QuoteReplyTopic: Advice about problem client Posted: July 25 2005 at 6:25am
Hi there guys. I did a client a couple of weeks ago. She had 14inch bohyme tipped with keratin and then shrinkies. She phoned me up last week saying that some had come out. I told her to pop back and I'd put them in, I assumed that they were just coming out the usual way. When she came I realised her hair was coming out with them and I told her this and to be very careful. Because her hair was blonde I had made tiny strands and made sure I put plenty of her hair in them as well. Anyway she has phoned me up and says they are coming out loads with her hair in them and she's distraught, not because her hair is coming out with them LOL but the fact that she can't have hair extensions. She wants me to suggest something else that she can have so she can have long hair. Do you think a micro-ring weft would be better for her or can you suggest something else xx

Ooh, I don't know, maybe switching to synthetic because it's lighter, might be a solution. I'm not sure I'd do anything though, she won't thank you for trying if it doesn't work out or causes more damage. How cool is she?
She's very cool. She doesn't seem to be bothered about her hair ripping out, just the fact that she can't have single strand extensions LOL, do you think a micro-ring weft would be less harmful? x
I have also seen the micro ring wefts pull hair out for really fine haired people. I have also seen the extentubes that I sewed on the wefts actually cause breakage for fine haired people.
Well I've suggested clips ins to her and she's insisted on having micro-ring weft extensions so I'm just going to try those but I've warned her. I can't believe it, doesn't she care that she may end up bald LOL x

Ok, so I have lost some shrinkies also, and they had hair with the root tip on them. I just thought that it was shedded hair. Doesn't the shedded hair have the root ball attached???

Proceed with caution!!!!! She may "think" she knows what she wants...but she'll be cryin wolfe if it happens!
You don't want to compramise your reputation on the possibility of what may go wrong here. She most definately won't be telling all her friends (possibly attorney) "Oh yes, Amanda fully explained the possibility I may go bald and I fully agreed an understood this risk." Have this client sign a WAIVER!!!!!!!!!!

Dome/Prohair is lighter than human hair, acutally 1/2 the weight. I emailed them and that is what they told me. Many salons will only use synthetic for hairloss/fine hair clients since human hair is heavy. This is from the Mark Glenn website:
"A further important benefit for both comfort and the protection of your natural hair is its weight - fibre is around half the weight of human hair, so it won't feel heavy on your head. And, because it's non-porous, getting it wet - for instance, whilst swimming - won't result in a head of hair that's suddenly much heavier, running the risk of further weakening or damaging your natural hair base. "
I agree with Gina, watch out!! And, my experience with sewn in wefts is that they are really heavy, which, in turn, would make her problem worse. It just seems like any weight on her natural hair just pulls it out. I don't think I would do any. Unless you just put a little in for extra volume, no lenght. And, spaces between, with a good amount of her hair in the shrinkie, but not too tight to her scalp. That's all I can think of!!!
I don't know what to do. She's got a bob. She text me again this morning to ask me to put it back in with larger sections of her hair. I told her that she would hardly have any extensions in and it would daft. Then she asked if I would use glue and I point blank said there's no way. She's going with the micro-ring weft again now. At least if that pulls out it will only pull the odd one out and I'm going to get her to sign something and I'm going to live in hope! x
Oh no you were all right guys. I did her a extentube-weft on Saturday and she text me last night to say it was all dropping out and what could she do. I text her back and said that I didn't think there was anything she could do and that I didn't think she was suitable for extensions at all and this is the reply I got this morning
"I don't want to be funny with you but I think I would like some money back, its a lot to pay for a month when I thought it would last three months. If I went to a shop I would want all of it back cus they did it, please don't think I am being funny with you, I am not, but you can understand my point of view, they were for my birthday present and I think I should have half of the money back please, sorry but my hair is a mess and I need to get something sorted"
What would you do? Do I give her her money back. I bought two 4oz packs of bohyme, spent four hours tipping it, plus the keratin to tip it with, shrinkies, a full pack of extentubes for the weft and spent in total 7 hours doing it.
Advice would be appreciated guys xx

455 - 373 = $82. I'd give her back half. I think you need ot be paid for your time regardless of if her hair took it or not. Its not your fault, and you warned her before the 2nd time. also $455 total is a REALLY friggin good deal for TWO installs and human hair.
