I think you are supposed to like pick up a section of hair and comb the side you can't see from the front from the ends to the roots. I think you can use a brush or a comb. I think you spray the top like after you smooth it. I've never done it because it's bad for your hair and my hair is already naturally huge. But I don't think you are supposed to tease the very front section of hair or your hair will look messy. Here I found an article on backcombing.

Haha, sorry I'm hair illiterate but what are undersections?
I don`t understand your instructions...but can you translate it into something I can understand for hair dummies?

How would you do big hair? I have asian hair and it's hard but uhh I tried mousse and spraying it and curling it up but it doesn't stay up. For example, I want my hair like this:
