Today, after my experience with the AURA's conditioner, I went to an Aveda Store to get some more Curessence and while I was there I decided to buy some of the Beautifying oil. I asked the saleperson how often to use it and she said every night. That seems to be alot. I would like to know how other people use it. Any suggestions? She said to massage it into my scalp each night, but I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week.. wouldn't that tend to make my scalp too oily? I have heard people massage it all over their hair and leave it on overnight. I would love to hear from the Aveda oil users! Cher

Hi Cher,I use it before each shampoo. I put it on the ends and leave it in over night. If I don't have time for that I put it on the ends and wrap my hair in a hot moist towel for a half hour or so. Then I wash it out with Aveda's Shampure. I love how it makes my hair feel. I have been using it for about 6 weeks and still have a half of a bottle. I only use it on my ends (the bottom 18 inches or so)as that is where my hair is the driest. It will make your hair look greasy until you wash it out, and a little goes a long way. I have been told to mix it with Olive oil for a hot oil treatment, but I haven't had the chance yet. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks, Karen, (again and again) for turning me on to it.Noreen> Today, after my experience with the AURA's> conditioner, I went to an Aveda Store to get some> more Curessence and while I was there I decided> to buy some of the Beautifying oil. Noreen, thanks for the advice. I know what you mean by it making your hair look oily. Today I played around with it alittle bit by rubbing it into the parts of my hair that are growing back from the water damage. Then I rubbed a tiny bit into the sides of my hair where I have the most silver, to soften it down some. I can live with it until the next washing but I think like you said, I will use it the night before I wash my hair. I also use the Shampure. What conditioner of Aveda's do you use? After my flirt with AURA and that overwith ! I went to buy some more Curessence. The saleslady said I could start to use the deep penetrating formula once I get my hair back to where I consider healthy again. Just for my info, how much shampoo/conditioner do you go through with the length of hair you have? It would be interesting to know.. I think that was one of Dawn's concerns with it being pricey and the length she has. I would like to know for myself because knee length is my goal. Thanks for the info on the oil. And I ditto the thanks to Karen for leading me to Aveda also. Best regards.. Cher> Hi Cher,> I use it before each shampoo. I put it on> the ends and leave it in over night. Hi Cher,I use the color conditioners. I alternate between the Camomille and the Madder Root. I use the Camomille more often, but when I want a change I will use the Madder Root. It really brings out the reds in my hair, and after a few uses, the lighter sections of my hair get very red. It is driving everyone at work crazy. They keep asking me if I am coloring my hair. I just smile and say "no". Then the next week the red has almost gone and it gradually gets lighter again. The color change is so gradual that they can't figure out what I'm doing.I have wanted to try the Curessence Conditioner, but have been kind of afraid. I bought a bottle of the Rosemary Mint and I hated how it made my hair feel. I loved the smell, though. They only had a big bottle so it was a big waste of money for me. They sell trial size bottles of the Aveda products at the Salon, but they have been out of the Curessence the last few times I was there. If they get them in soon, I will buy one and give it a try.A large bottle of Shampure will last me a few months. I do alternate between the Shampure and the Camomille Shampoo, though. But I use the Shampure more, and the bottle of Camomille that I have, was purchased last July. I go through the conditioner much faster. One tube of the color conditioner only lasts about 4 washings, with a little left in the tube. I keep the tubes, and when I have a few of them I will squeeze out every drop and combine them for one final treatment. I do use the conditioners from tip to tip.All in all, I haven't found the price difference to be that great. And the additional money I spend is worth it. My hair has never felt better and it seems to getting healthier with every washing.Take care...Noreen

Thanks for the info.. I go through one bottle of Curessence a month now. But I am not skimpy with it and my hair is thick. I like to do the scalp all the way to the ends. So, it looks like I should take out some stock in the company as I let my hair grow longer! :-) I have to add a p.s. to what I said about the oil this morning. By late afternoon the oil I had used on my hair had asorbed completely in. I have very porous hair. I intend on using it on the areas that had been affected by the water damage. At first it was oily...but this evening when I brushed my hair out..it was normal looking again.. Cher> Hi Cher,> I use the color conditioners. I alternate> between the Camomille and the Madder Root.
