Hi Dawn.I just wanted to say that my Baltic Amber hair ties arrived yesterday. I wore one all day today. I wrapped it around my ponytail twice, and it held my hair in place quite firmly. It didn't slide at all, which is quite unusual. It's also fantastic. It's so difficult to find barrettes that work but don't cause damage. My first impression of the hair tie is teriffic. Keep up the good work, and definitely let us know if you are planning anymore great barrettes in the future. Thanks,Teresa

Thanks Teresa!I am so thrilled to hear that you're happy with your ties. I myself wear them every single day, for the very reason you mentioned, nothing else will stay put in my hair and the conventional ties with the metal clamp always really tore up my fine hair. I have some amber ties that I made more than three years ago, I beat the heck out of them, even wear them swimming (I definitely don't recommend this!) and they are still going strong. I know yours will give you years of faithful service too! Wear them in good health and thank you again for letting me know what you thought!Very best wishes,DawnP.S. Today was a bit of a rough day for me and your note meant a lot! It was truly appreciated!

When I got home this evening, I found the hair jewelry I ordered waiting for me. It really made my day! Everything is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures, especially the amber hair ties! I'm amazed at how light they are, too - they weigh next to nothing.Right away, I took my hair out of the bun I'd worn all day (since I was giving a presentation in class this afternoon) and tried a few styles with the blue hair ties. So far, I'm really impressed! I put my hair in a high ponytail a few hours ago, then braided it, and it's stayed perfectly - it hasn't slipped down at all!Now I just have to figure out what I can wear the hair sticks with... :)Laura Janelswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu

Well, I looked through my drawer and found the perfect t-shirt to go with the sticks, so I wore them to the lab today. Except for the fact that I forgot to wear any combs to hold my bangs back, everything was wonderful! I wore my hair in a bun on the back of my head. It stayed very well - I suspect it would have lasted all day, but I took it down once. (I have the bad habit of playing with my hair while reading.) I put it back up, though, and had no trouble with it staying that time either.I'm planning to wear some of the blue ties to choir practice tonight. (Oops, speaking of practice, I'm running late!)Laura Jane :)lswanson@sunflower.bio.indiana.edu

Hi all,Well I went to the mall last weekend with Jeff and we bought some sample hair jewelry to send to Dawn and believe me, it was so poorly made compared to Dawn's.However, I did find these silver hair ties that were plain and had a kind of soft "metal finish" that I thought would look really great in Jeff's hair (he has a lot of gray).Today he came into my office and I gave him the silver hair tie and he put it in his hair and started to freak. The little tie had spongy metal pieces and actually started grabbing his hair and tangling it and ripping it. We did not notice this as all by just looking at the ties. It was only after Jeff had it in his hair that we discovered the disastrous design of the hair ties.I was freaking because I could see that hair was caught up and down the length of the silver tie. So I literally cut the tie out of his hair in pieces and it took me 10 minutes to carefully untangle his hair. Only about 3 strands were lost in the battle to liberate his hair from these monsters. The ties had cost $5.00 for a package of 5 silver elastic ties. I am going to publish the name brand of the ties so that no one buys these and has the same horrible problems. I may try and scan them so you can see what NOT to buy.Poor Jeff. He has beautiful thick wavy hair down the middle of his back and it was all tangled. I was trying to be calm as I was cutting the hair tie out of his hair.Jeff even said...gosh...I should stick to only Dawn's hair ties because this would never have happened with her "hair friendly" ties.Just wanted to warn you all to be careful with hair ties and elastic bands of any kind. These looked perfectly friendly until Jeff had it in his hair and then it was a disaster. Please be careful.Best wishes,Karen> Thanks Teresa!> I am so thrilled to hear that you're happy with your> ties. Hi Karen and Jeff,Thank you for the warning! I am so sorry to hear that you had to learn to hard way, Jeff. Thank goodness Karen was able to help you get that out of your hair with the minimum of damage. I would have been freaking out too!Glad to hear that all ended well. Yet another good reason to get Dawn's wonderful hair ties! Take care!Valentine :o)Related Link:House of Valentine
