I was browsing through some of the post yesterday and came across this article on inositol. It's suppose to help hair growth. I've been having some problems with my hair breaking and generally being unhealthy. I was shocked to see the culprit. Caffeine. I drink 6-8 cups of coffee in the morning, and tea throughout the day. I was just wondering if the people that were discussing inositol were having any luck with it. Are you noticing any changes in your hair and is inositol available anywhere, like walmart for example. Thanks a lot!!!! ~k

hey kactually, inositol is just one of many key ingredients (amino acids and vitmains/minerals) that are very improtant for healthy hair growth. i suggest you take a look at the hair formula 37 ad, available through hairboutique marketplace. it provides a complete list of all the vitamins and minerals included in the formula, along with their dosage. while i recommend that product--hf37--very highly, I know that many people have been successful in putting together their own combination of vitamins/minerals. usually at a less expensive cost.in any respect, the HF37 listing should provide you with the list of what things you should be looking for.hope this is helpful! :) silvie

Hi,k!Inositol in tablet or capsule form is usually quite cheap and readily available. If you try to get the powder, it can be very expensive because the rumor is that drug dealers use it to cut cocaine. If you are ingesting that much caffeine daily, you are depleting any B Vitamins you are getting through food and maybe even some supplements, if you take any. It's not a great idea to take B Vitamins in isolation without taking a B-Complex vitamin because you can actually defeat the effectiveness of one or more.Suggestion: Daily ingestion of the following, in divided doses. [I assume you are on no medications and have no serious medical conditions. If you are or do, consult a physician before ingesting them.]B-Complex Vitamin 50-100mg Inositiol 250mgPantothenic Acid 250-500mgBiotin 2500-5000mcg (2.5-5mg)Vitamin C with bioflavanoids 1,000-2,000mg (1-2grams)Try to cut down on the amount of caffeine you ingest, even if it is only by 1 or 2 cups of coffee or tea. It just washes out the nutrients and what you basically will have to do is ingest more and more supplements to effectively meet what the caffeine is washing out.I suggested starting with either 50 or 100mg of the Vitamin B Complex because some folks notice a burst of energy if they have not been taking any. But, if you are ingesting that much caffeine, I don't think you will have problems with that. The 100mg is likely to suit you well.Give yourself at least 1 month to notice a difference in your hair. The Vitamin C should really help with the breakage you are experiencing, along with the biotin. The pantothenic acid will give your hair luster, shine, and strength. Inositol not only "helps with hair growth," it is vital for hair growth.Bye for now,JadeI was browsing through some of the post yesterday and> came across this article on inositol. YES TOTALLY! I bought my second bottle today although I am not sure of the dosage. It works great on my hair. I got it through Wal-Mart as well.
