Hey all-I have been taken inosotil (I think that's what it's called?), biotin, vitamin E, and prenatals to help my hair growth. They have done wonders. But I was wondering if someone had an idea of the proper dosages of these vitamins? I follow the directions printed on the lables of the bottles, but I noticed that some of the vitamins in the prenatals have %1400 of the daily amount needed. That's a lot more than just one dosage of something!! How much of these vitamins should I be taking to help with hair growth?

AllysonProper dosage of a vitamin varies with the vitamin type (plus any health conditions a person might have. Assuming you have no special health concerns, the vitamin label should be a good gauge to follow. I understnad your question is specific to hair vitamins. I suggest you refer to the HF 37 page (www.thehair.com) they give a complete breakdown of the vitamins/minerals and dosages of each. I imagine the same ones you are taking are included in the HF37 folrumla. But here is a more exact explanation to your question:Some vitamins can be taken in extraordinarily high dosages--like Vitamin C, for example. That's because it can be flushed out by the body in natural ways (urination, sweating). On the other hand, there are other vitamins--like Vitamin A--that are absolutely *toxic* if taken in megadoses, because the body does not flush them out. Needless to say, it's very important to know which are which if you are taking high doses of any.Amino acids, like Isoleucine, can also be taken in high doses (more than 100% rda) because your body flushes out what it does not use. This does NOT, however, mean that you can take ridiculously high quantities. In these cases, once again, follow the label. In general, it is important to read the vitamin label and the recommend dosage prescribed there. No trustworthy brand is going to tell you to take more than is healthy. Also, if you have any health concerns it's *always* a good idea to consult with a physician before taking new vitamin/mineral or herbal suplements.hope this is helpful :) silvie
