This is about 3 1/2 to 4 bags total of PlastikHaar in Satin Blonde, Platinum Blonde, and Weiss, mixed with Dome Light Blonde and Creamy White (I think that's the name).
They're pinchbraids, done by Issac at Cyberparlor, who mixed all the colors like a madman and did my whole head in three hours. I'd say the braids go up to about 1 1/2 inches from my center partline. (I don't usually wear a side part or barrettes, actually, but the before-and-after photo on Kristin's site inspired me.)
I probably should've brushed the back a bit more before I took these; I haven't had hair this long ever, I don't think!
ASOLUTELY GORGEOUS GIRL....I gotta get mine installed now for sure, maybe Ill just give up on the curl that I normally like! I LIKE EM, ILOVE EM, I WANT SOME OF EM !!!!!!!!!
Must also bleach dark roots on crown of head, apparently...
Thanks, Sher! We had a lot of fun this afternoon, actually. I'm planning to post more after I wash it, etc., so people can see the progression.
By the way--in case anyone's wondering--we did not braid all the way to the top; it goes to about 1 1/2 inch from the centerpart and the crown, and I don't have any in the front at all. I have a lot of damage I'm trying to grow out, so we generally leave those areas free to grow (although they're growing at a snail's pace, because--as you can see--I'm crazy with the bleach these days). :)
yay, but i miss your eyes. you look fantab. i showed my bf too. (my eye surgery was to straighten my eyes (i have crooked eyes which you can KINDA NOT REALLY TELL in my icon, and once they heal (right now they are red monster eyes) I will be showing off my STRAIGHT STRAIGHT EYES LOL
YOUR HAIR LOOKS SOO SOO GOOD!!!

Bellissima! That looks so awesome (somebody slap me, I'm starting to talk, er type, like my boyfriend).
I can tell the front is your real hair because it doesn't shine like the synth. It may not show up so much in real life, though. Or a little dab of shiny stuff on your real hair would fix it up.
Your (fake) hair is sooooo pretty. I wish my hair would do the sexy wavy thing. (I'm not sure if it holds a curl anymore after chemically straightening it this week...I gotta test that.)
Oh My God!!! Absolutely GORGEOUS! Now YOU are sex on a stick!! The colors are fantastic and the wave is beautiful - the whole look just ROCKS! And you know... you look a lot more like Gwen Stefani than that old Debbie Harry picture! Ohmygod... So are you happy with it? Is it what you wanted and expected? People are going to get whiplash when you walk down the street!

Thanks for the compliments, everyone. I really like the hair so far. I don't know if I'll be able to deal with this length indefinitely, but it's fun for now, and if I have to cut it a bit, that's no big deal.
How did Issac blend the colors? Good question.... He separated the hair two handfuls at a time and started shuffling it like a deck of cards. I was like, what the****? There's no way I could do it myself or explain it to anyone else--LOL! He acutally used a hackle to brush the hair a bit, but he said with the hair being that long, it was just easier to blend it with the "shuffling technique" (my name for it).
Syren: Yeah, it's quite Gwen in color. I've always loved white blonde, but it really takes a toll on your hair. I have A LOT of damage, much of it caused by previous forms of extensions I've used, but the trouble on the top and crown of my head is not from extensions. It's a combination of crappy genes and overlapping bleach, and I've also had some thinning caused by stress or some sort of vitamin deficiency. That's my theory, anyway. Before I ever started with extensions, I had very long hair in the back, from the ears down, but the hair on top of my head and at the crown was quite damaged. I colored it and treated it all the same, but that's the way it always went for me.
Leia: I'm definitely gonna try to shine up my real hair a bit to match--at least use a lot of product--and hopefully the synth shine will tone down after a few washes. The shine is pretty evident in some lights, but not so much in others.... My real hair is pin-straight, by the way, as you can probably tell from the photos.
Well, especially since your hair is so nice (and you want it to stay that way), I think pinchbraids would be a good option for you. Also, since your hair is so long and full anyway, they'll blend in with your hair no problem.
As far as the texture, I'm planning to post follow-up pics so you can see how the texture turns out after a few washes. :)
Oh, one other tidbit about pinchbraids and synth that I learned today: With human hair, the braids tend to expand over time a bit. When they're first put in, they're supertight, but they loosen up a bit and become bigger. According to Isaac, the synth doesn't expand in the same way, so the braids stay smaller, which, of course, would be a plus. :)
Katherine, I agree if you just want some streaks, some pinchbraided synth would be the easiest and safest for your hair. (Bleach is eeeeevil, and I'm trying really hard to quit, but it's difficult. I think I have a hair addiction.)
Jenny, looking at your pics, I think of Gwen Stefani meets Portia de Rossi. Hmm, I wonder if Portia's hair is all hers.........
