QuoteReplyTopic: Bleach ? 2 times looked better Posted: January 11 2002 at 1:23pm
I have had bleached hair for a long time. I loved the way it looked when it was bleached for 45 minutes with 20 volume peroxide then dried then bleached again for 45 minutes. The look was very pale and I had no burns or problems. The hair condition was good. My curent stylist does 30 volume for an hour to hour and a quarter and it does not get light enough for me. It also seems to make the hair more brittle. She is afraid of scalp burns going twice, but it worked out better that way for years. How can I get her to change methods??? Or does anyone else go with 2 seperate bleach applications. Megan
You won`t get her to change her process. It is not always a bad thing to bleach twice, I`m a hair dresser and I do this on friends and family...but never on a client. Not for any amount of money in the world would I risk burning someone. You said that you`ve never had a problem before so maybe you should see if the other person that did your hair is still available. It`s for your safety that she doesn`t do this. She`s also watching out for herself. I have burned my brother and the blisters lasted for days. He said it felt like he had boiling water on his head. It scared me. Yet my boyfriend I would use 40 Volume two times for an hour each time and never had a problem. All she is trying to say is you may never of had a problem, but she has seen it...Every hair dresser has seen chemical burns..they`re gross and no matter how well the hair color is, those blisters will make it hideous.
