I have my dark brown hair colored to cover the grey. My hair is highlighted and they have turned brassy.
Can L`oreal Excellence creme color toner for highlight hair work on my whole head. The toner is T2 Beige. does this change the dark color as well as toning down the highlights? What should I do. I have a wedding on Saturday. My hair dresser cannot get me in.

Hi Elaine,
I don`t think the Beige will tone out the brass. Ash=violet or blue tones will cancel out the orange/yellow/brass.The most important thing you should do is a strand test. I doubt it would change the color of the other hair but do a small test to be sure. Just measure out a small batch with a tiny 1/8 plastic teaspoon.
You might also try Smimmer lights shampoo. If the hair is too yellow this will help tone it out. It is a purple shampoo.Or you could a violet protein filler. It acts like the Shimmer Lights but gives stronger results. If I were you I would try these methods until you can get to your salon.
Another option is to go to another salon, but before you do ask your stylist what brand she uses on you.Explain that while you LOVE her work and will return to her, you simply must have these highlights toned for the wedding. Maybe then she will "find" the time to fit you in. ;)
