I would love to know that answer also, my wife has always feared going blone b/c she has brown hair.  She says her stylist said that you look at your skin tone to see if it would work, so I think you are on the right track.

You know, you could always go to a store that has wigs and trow a few on and look in the mirror just to see what the blond hair looks like on you (not necessarily the style).  that may be a good way to get a higher level view of the situation and could possibly rule out the idea immediately.  However, i am of the opinion, if you want it, do it!
