Hey all, I was just wondering whether it's healthy to keep hair tied back while you sleep. As my hair grows longer it gets in my face when I lie down. I just want to make sure I won't be damaging my hair too much by doing this.

Do it if it's what works for you.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

As long as you tie it back with something hair safe, and not something that's going to scrape at it all night, it should be fine. Those pony-o things they make for kids with no metal parts work great.
Making metal barettes/concord clips hair safe, long hair style how to: http://alonghair.wordpress.com

Don't tie it back in a tight tail - then the extra tension from turning your head at night might pull out hair. A loose braid seems to have worked for centuries, why not try that?
