I have long wavy/curly uncontrollable hair. I really want it to be straight. I`ve tried those little straighteners, but my hair`s just too thick! I barely have any time in the morning to do my hair and i already wake up at 5:30am. Is using a regular clothes iron safe on your hair? Is it worth it? My friend uses an iron and it looks really good. If an iron isn`t safe, are there any cheap products that work for long naturally curly/wavy hair? Thanks!

Ironing hair is a beatnik thing...or a 50`s thing at any rate.
:o)

Will it damage your hair? Without a doubt, yes, the heat will. Whether it is worth it probably depends on how long your hair is and how long you intend to keep those individual follicles. A better option could be to accept your wavy /curly hair...sounds really cool to me!

No That`s not a good idea. Want to know why? Every girl I`veknown to use a clothes iron on your hair has VISABLE splits. I mean you can actually SEE the splits and their hair is all lightly colored on the ends from the iron being so hot and being so drying. A clothes iron can go to higher temperatures thana curling iron so it is NOT worth it.

i have used a clothes iron on my hair before and it worked alot faster and make it really soft but if damage is a problem try putting a towel over your hair. hair straighteners can sometimes rip you hair anyways so i think either one is fine

hi, yeah i also have naturally curly hair. But my hair is also naturally frizzy. I asked my local hairdresser and she said that no matter what you try to do to your hair if its naturally curly you cannot straighten it because as soon as it rains it will go curly again.

I have tried straightening my hair with straighteners and i have tried nearly every product on my hair to get it straight but it wont work! But when it does work it takes me 2hours to straighten it as my hair is thick, so by the time it is fininshed its too late to go out.

I am going to try getting my hair chemically straightened it is not very expensive and i think this may be a good idea for you to try. Although it can damage your hair if it is too strong so you will need to find a professionally trained hairdresser. if you are going to follow this option.
