Ok here is the deal, I am 15 going on 16 and I really want to change my hair. Right now it is THICK, about shoulder length and with layers, also it has this little wave to it. No matter what I never like it. IS there anyone out there that can help me with my problem? I need to now if it would work if I would cut it a little shorter or what. And besides thinning my hair(cuz I have tried it and it still is thick) what else can i do so I DON"T have volume in my hair? Think on a low budget ok. Anyone with tips E-MAIL me!!!!Thanks alot, Stacey =0D

Hi Stacey,O.K., here is my two cents worth. First, I want you to know that many of the women I have worked with would die to have your "problem"-thick hair! Just be aware of how truly blest you are, in spite of the fact that you don't like it, at least, not right now. The first big decision you have in changing your hair is the length. Are you talking about major change, or just trying to reduce the wave and/or thickness? I personally don't like to thin hair, because I think it creates more problems in the long run. As for the wave, you are stuck with that, so only shortening your hair or using a blow dryer can help you out there. Four suggested cuts depending on how short you want to go: 1. Jaw length bob, blunt cut. 2. Ear lobe length wedge with a clipped neck 3. Pixie, slightly longer on top 4. Very short, all one length cut. Should look great with your thick hair, may not look real good on you. I suggest you take a look at the gallery pictures at this site, and check out the hair style magazines. Look for some ladies in your area who have thick hair and ask them about what they do with their hair. I suggest that you start conservatively if you like your hair long. Lastly, I'm not sure what you mean about "low budget". Most any salon can do the cuts I suggested. They may not be able to do them well, or to your satisfaction. Perhaps one problem that you have is that you have never had a really good haircut. I might suggest that you seek a male hair stylist (not trying to be sexist here, but I think that men can have a different view of what looks good on a woman). Let whoever you choose to do the cut have some time to look at your hair and let you tell them what you want before any cutting is done. If that sounds too expensive for your budget, then you have to find a person with the skills to do what you want at a nominal or no fee. I hope this helps. If you happen to live in NE Ohio, let me know--be glad to do what I can. John R> Ok here is the deal, I am 15 going on 16> and I really want to change my hair. Stacey,A super low budget choice would be to grow your hair long. Spend your money on good shampoos, conditioners and styling products. I have found that when my hair is long it hangs better than when it is short. The weight of your hair may make it hang better. I have thick bone straight hair, but my cousin has your problem, but hers is curly not wavy. She went through years of hair cuts until she finally just allowed it to grow long. Her hair is now about mid-back and hangs really well. Personally, I have also found that my hair behaves better when it is conditioned really well. Try leaving conditioner in all day or over night. I just recently bought a house and am now a slave to my mortgage so I know what low budget feels like. I found a hair school relatively close to my house which cuts hair for $9.50. They are all being trained for high end salons and I have had about six really good cuts there. Also check out the hair product reviews. I think there was one on the board for Nature Clean. Apparenlty it is about $5.Good luck!
