I have just read Suzanne's and Cher's comments on Curressense and leaving it in for as long as possible. I've noticed similar comments before and also done it myself with some products. But I'd like to ask if there is a danger of taking this as a blanket approach with all conditioners, i.e. some of the cheaper bulk market types. If left on for significantly longer than the usual recommended 2-5 mins, do they contain products that could damage your hair. If not... would it be okay to leave these products in overnight while sleeping and then rinse out in the morning?Paul

I have never left cheaper conditioners on my hair for longer than it took to shave my legs in the shower or read a chapter or two out of a book while soaking in bubbles. But I have used the better conditioners longer.. like Curessence and I used to put Wella on my hair for hours at a time. I only left Curessence on for longer periods because I was instructed to do so by an Aveda consultant. Laura Jane would know more than anyone about the chemistry of conditioners. I have never suffered ill effects from leaving condtioners on longer than the directions on the bottle states. The only thing that can happen is if your hair is not in desparate need of conditioning..you can over condition and your hair will get limp. Paul- I leave my conditoner in for up to 20 minutes sometimes. It doen't hurt my hair in any way. In fact my hair has been in the best condition it has been in for a while! It is also helpful to leave a little in if you are going to go swimming.-Keeley
