Hi, I just tried Aveda Beautifying Composition for the first time today and loved the results, but not the price. Would someone please help me find something that works as well or better and please instruct me as far as how to use it and where to get it?Thanks in advance,Connie
First the bad news....I have tried just plain jojobo oil...which is the primary ingredient in ABC but believe me, the ABC is worth every penny. I have been using it on my hair for years with stunning results.I have recently started testing some alternative oils to try and get the same results. I have not found any that in my opinion matched the ABC. However, I have been experiementing with a Wella Rosemary oil that seems to work well for me. Not as good as the Aveda, but still good. You can buy the Weleda right online from Whole Foods Market. I actually bought the oil from the Whole Foods in Dallas. There are also jojobo oils listed. However, I do not find that straight jojobo works as well for me. Maybe you might have better luck.Hope this helps.Karen> Hi, I just tried Aveda Beautifying Composition for the> first time today and loved the results, but not the> price. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
HiI would have to agree with Karen. The Aveda works better for me than any other oil I've tried. Also, I actually find it pretty cost effective. The other oils I have tried have taken much more oil. So far I've used the Aveda about 10 to 12 times and am not quite a quarter of the way through the bottle. That means the $20 for the bottle should last me about 40 treatments.Good luck and best wishes,Teresa
Hi, Karen!I have heard you and other rave about ABC and have even thought about trying it myself. But, I have to say that the straight jojoba works so great for me that I haven't bothered, especially since I've been using the stuff for a body moisturizer, too.Maybe, it's just Aveda's formula that agrees with your hair. Sometimes that's true for shampoos and conditioners, too. Who knows? The important thing is just to find things that work, right?Bye for now,Jade21First the bad news....I have tried just plain jojobo> oil...which is the primary ingredient in ABC but> believe me, the ABC is worth every penny. Hi,I use the Aveda Beautifying oil as well, and I love it. I use it frequently, and I have had the same bottle since the winter, and its only about one quarter empty. So I would say very decent price wise, spread over time. I also have some of the Weleda Rosemary oil that Karen spoke of, and its about half the price. I like it, but one way I can't seem to use it the way I use the Aveda, is I use I few drops on the ends to condition during the day when it dries. It does not get greasy at all. The Rosemary oil tends to get my hair kind of greasy. I use jojoba as a skin moisturizer.Clare> Hi, I just tried Aveda Beautifying Composition for the> first time today and loved the results, but not the> price.
