Ok, this is a dumb question but there is a ball of my hair at the beginning of my bond on my great lengths fusion bonds, is this a knot or hair just coming through>? its like a little ball??? I brushed it and it is still there?? any ideas what it is???

It's a ball of hair???????
Is the hair still attached to your head or has it detached from your head but still in the bond.
When hair falls out, there's a ball at the end of the hair. If it's white than that's what it is.

I give up, when I go on the 12th I am going to take them out after Florida. I tried to separate it with the brush and it cam eout of my head, my hair with teh white attached. I cannot deal with this really, Idont have the patience for this. I love the hair but I get too panicked when it tangles or mats or knots or whatever it is.

why would you want to wait? if there is a potential problem, your problems will be MUCH bigger before the 12th. At least if your extensionist LOOKS at them and there isnt a problem, then you will have the reassurance and calm your worries. Is your extensionist close enough to you to drop in to see her? If not Im sure someone local would look just to give you an opinion (maybe a small charge at most) Personally if I had a client calling me with concerns or telling me the things you have posted about I would want to see the client ASAP!!
Is this the first time you've had extensions? The first time I had
mine, they shed out within two weeks and my so called extensionist
never returned any of my calls. She also didn't work in a salon. I had
to find out how to take them out myself. Anyway, I would take Sherrie's
advice and go see her.

Ya, I talked to her, she said it was normal for some loss, etc. I am going there tomorrow to have her look, the rest are fine, once in awhile I loose one or they are tangled and i got them out.
I wonder if it is because i dry it upside down, scrunch with Garnier curl shaping gel, and then scrunch again with Paul Mitchell fast drying sculpting spray, maybe that is gumming them up or something???

I've read that with fusion you sould not dry upside down. Ask her if
that's why. Anyway, I'm glad she'll look at them tomorrow. I'm sure
it's fine.
Also, since this is the first time you've had them I think it's normal
to observe every detail and question it. Once you get used to wearing
them you'll know what's normal and abnormal. I still think if you're
going to do this long term you should find a cheaper way b/c you're
going to end up in the poor house.

I love them so much, but I am not doing them again. Too expensive and I panic too much, my hair was short thin/fine so I don;t know. I have not had them cut since installation which was Jan. 18th. My hair is growing alot where the extension are not at, so we will see..

Did she say it's better to dry upside down? Who knows...
Before you totally give up on extensions you should try the clip-ins. I
was so fed up with fusion and ready to give up extensions. The fusion
feels more natural, for sure! But yikes, the price.

Hey hun, you should look into a DIY method in the future. But, the stylist
(especially for the price of GLs) should be at your beck and call!! It sounds
like matting to me too! Which can be serious, you need to becareful, I
ignored it once and had to chop a huge chunk out of my hair!! It might be
the product too if you aren't getting it out? Not sure.
hi I was told my my extensionist never to dry your hair upside down that it weakens the bonds. I would go ahead and stop doing that. Alot of extensionists advise against it. Did you get a special brush to comb your hair out everyday? I have one that i can use to brush my hair and it does not get caught on the extension bonds. This helps prevent matting and tangling.

I think the reason for not drying your extensions upside down is the tension it puts on the root of your hair when the weight of wet extensions is pulling in the opposite direction of natural hair growth.
The looper brush is a definite must for extensions!
The strands can get tangled more easily as well when you dry upside down and that can exacerbate shedding and matting especially the longer you are into an install (because of growth).
It is really good that your stylist is responsive to you and that you have been happy with your hair. When I had a bad experience with extensions because of a fugitive stylist (didn't return calls, etc.) I gave up on them for about 6 months...but once I researched and decided that DIY could work for me I jumped back in and have been doing my own extensions for the past 4 months.
I have less anxiety about my extensions now, since I know if something doesn't seem quite right I can just remove and try again (and I do...about once every 3 weeks or so...shrinkies, protac, or microrings). I have spent less money than what I did for that 1 time for fusion extensions that lasted 3 weeks and looked awful!
