First Experience with clip-ins!

I'd been planning on installing new hair next week for the holidays and turning my current install into clip-ins. Well, the other night while watching a movie (when will I learn to stop fiddling with my bonds?) I was futzing with my ear-to-ear double weft that had come a little loose, and before I knew it I had it half out. I figured, what the heck... it might be a good time to practice for a week with my lower bond as a clip-in. Sewing on the clips took no time at all (I'm lying, it took a little more time... I sewed them in upside-down the first time!) and before I knew it I had myself a clip-in!

After washing and blow-drying the hair on my head the next day, I attempted my first clip-in. At the Hair Club luncheon I'd asked Malibu
who was sporting fabulous clip-ins just how long it took her to put them in each day. She responded, "about a minute." I figured it would probably take ME a half-hour. I was amazed yesterday to get that sucker in there on the first try, and it did take about a minute. That thing stayed put and was comfortable and looked exactly like it was supposed to!

It was so great to be able to take it out last night! I flip my hair into a flippy curl, and found that by putting a few velcro rollers in the ends when I took it out it was ready for installing today when I needed it! Too cool! I can't wait now to have a full set (really just the one I made and a triple-weft horseshoe, temple to temple) for those times I've taken my old install out and am not going to put the new one in for a few days. Thanks to you all and especially to Malibu for the information and encouragement! I'm a cool clip-in girl now, too!   

I feel your pain about sewing them upside down...I did the same thing...but I did it to 3 rows.....talkin' about pissed....and Iwas getting ready to go somewhere....

I made Amm's thermofibre into clip ins, 2 rows that are quadrupled.  It looks more natural than any other method I've used because the clips seem to give a little lift and it makes my crown area look fuller.
Also, they go in super fast and overall take far less time and upkeep than having a more permanent attachment method.
I've heard a number of people mention the weird way the thermo separates, but I haven't noticed that wearing it as clip ins.  Maybe it's due to less wear and tear on the thermo.

That's so great!  I know what you mean...I prefer having a full "more permanent" install, but clip ins are great for some funky color or extra volume.  I have a temple to temple clip in with my fusion right now actually. 

oooh, aren't clip ins just fabulous?!!!!  I love mine.  Been wearing clip ins for over a year now. I could never go back to sewn or glued or braided or...  well, never say never I guess.

malibu had me all set to snip the clips off my old deader-than-dead clip in set....but i've kept procrastinating....i really think its an excellent idea for me to sew those clips onto a set of my current hair to use for a few days between installs to give my head a rest and do some deep conditioning treatments...i just need to actually do it!.....and kristie, i love your new avatar pic, you look phenomenal!
