Favorite way to wear your long hair in summer

After my hair's once-weekly cleaning, it dries indoors in the A/C. Spending any amount of time outdoors (here in lovely humid Florida) makes straight go frizzy. It calms down again after finding A/C'ed shelter. I wouldn't even consider letting my wet hair dry outdoors here.

You do a crownbraid by yourself? I didn´t think that was even possible!? How?

I do the same thing that Erinlynn does. Down to dry after washing and then up the next day in a bun, braid, twist, whatever to get the hair off my neck.

I don´t understand how anyone can wear it down in the heat. I´m hoping for a moderately warm summer, and so far, I´ve been lucky. If I need a sunhat, a braid or two is all there is, really, but if not, I´ll just make a slightly higher bun than usual, and twist it a bit, it looks kind of like one of those french updos, we call them 'pigs back'. Then I secure with a single hairstick.

I actually wore it loose on midsummers eve, for the first time in ages, and it felt quite good!

Unfortunately I won't be too much help with this one.

I have 3 styles for my hair. Well maybe more than that but I'll explain.

1 - Down:
I wear my hair down and combed or brushed. Down and uncombed (at home).
Down and wet to air dry at home.

2 - Ponytail:
I usually wear my hair in a low ponytail when I leave the house.
I have also left with my hair in a tail that was still wet or damp from washing.

3 - My sleep tail:
As seen in my picture I have my hair in a low tail with 2 elastics on the length that were slid down from the nape carefully.

Those are my 3 styles. I have only attempted braids on my hair so far a few times and haven't worn them outside so they don't count yet.

Those are my styles for whatever weather. I've been doing them for about 6 years except for the sleep tail which was added this March.

Someday I'll add some more.

My current favorite is a ponytail and with it in front of me over my shoulder. Sometimes I put it there and sometimes it does it on it's own. :)

Hey everybody... now that the heat of summer has arrived... what is everyone's favorite way of wearing their long hair to "beat the heat?" Here in the heat and humidity of Florida, wearing your hair up would seem to be mandatory (at least for me it is, with a single braid down my back)... but lots of girls and women wear their hair loose. Probably because they (and everyone) is merely going from one air-conditioned environ to another.

So, how about you all?
