Biosilk silk therapy??

Products that are heavily based on silicones, such as this "Biosilk Silk therapy" will initially appear to be wonderful, since they will lock in the existing moisture. With repeated use over time, however, these types of products succeed in locking out moisture, making it difficult to re-hydrate your hair, thus resulting in dry, brittle hair that easily tangles and gets damaged. I would avoid using this product altogether -- or use it only once in a while (for "special" occasions), and use a clarifying shampoo at the following wash followed by a deep conditioner.

Personally, I like it. It does quite a bit to help tame my unruly hair :) However, you really don't want to use it every day, or else you might end up with a build up. I usually keep it to 2 - 3 times a week :)

I just bought a small lot of it from eBay, I was looking for something to protect my hair against heat damage because I also just purchased a Bion.

I can post updates on how it makes my hair feel, if you'd like.

Well, I´m no chemist and don´t know all this stuff, but I can say that the first two are silicones, and it seems folks are divided about those. I don´t much like them, they seem to dry my hair after weeks of use, and the ones I know that like them keep their hair shorter (and don´t need to think ahead).

The parabens and benzoate are preservatives that keep the stuff from going bad, and alcohol are used that way to, so my guess it the ethanol is also a preservative. The Octyl Methoxycinnamate could be a thickening agent.

Panthenol is, I believe, a form of B-vitamine that binds moisture. Silk proteins are used to bind moisture as well.

Basically, it´s a silicone product and if I were you I´d use it for some special occasion (it can´t harm your hair to use it once or twice), but not on a regular basis.

It would be interesting to know how it worked out, and what you think about the product.
