QuoteReplyTopic: If any guys want help with there hair!!! Posted: May 05 2006 at 3:56pm
I'm a 16 year old guy with thick curly hair. It's pretty long... past
my ears and about 3/4 of the way down my neck in the back. It's blended
or whatever you call it so that it's a little shorter in the front and
gets longer in the back. But what I hate is how poofy and out of
control it can get. I'd rather it be wavy or even straight (but only
occasionally). I like shaggy looks. I can get my hair to go straight if
I blow dry it, but it gets poofy easily. I'd like to be able to get it
to look somewhat like the guy on the far right in this pic. Or maybe a wavy/shaggy look.
Life is short... Live like you mean it.

Hey, I have had bangs for a long time but now I figured I needed a change so now I have my bangs spiked back and off my forehead. I have a kind of broad forehead and I wanted opinions on my style and/or if you had any style ideas for my face shape... preferrably without bangs.
when my hair is just washed... even when i use conditioner... is really poofy. i have longish shaggy hair (im going for a sort of ashton kutcher/zac efron look) that is very thick.. but it ends of becoming just becoming a poofy/helmet hair kind of thing. if i dont use shampoo it goes down once my hair becomes naturally oily.. but thats kind of gross. anyway, what products ect. should i use to make it stay down. btw i have had my hair thinned but it still becomes poofy and dry.
right now i use a straightener (spelling) to keep my hair mostly straight. but at the end of the day it usually ends up looking like the pic i showed you. if i had to describe my hair style i would say its kinda thick and fluffy unfourtinally.
I have been conceidering getting an undercut to reduce the fluffyness of it but i dont know how it would look or if it would help.
what i really want is to have any of the folowing hair styles
I could use some help in changing my hairstyle. Currently and for a while now I have been either combing my hair forward and spiking the front up, or spiking it up completely. This has worked great for years and has looked clean cut as well as been easy to manage. More recently I have really grown tired of the same hair style and have always liked the emo/mod shaggy hair look. I really want a hairstyle that I can let get in my face a little, it can even cover up half of my face as I am blind in one of my eyes. Any ideas would be appreciated as it is a completely different type of hairstyle and I have no idea where to start. I have looked for pictures but its harder to find pictures on the net than it is to actually see someone with this type of hairstyle. Thanks in advance
Vance

Hey Rose, Ive read through alot of the questions and replys found here... and with a lot of them it seems people dont exactly know what style they are looking for... do you have any suggestions of places in which a guy can go to see pictures of different styles and looks that would help him figure out what he wants wants his hair to look like?

Hey Duracell, I would just go to a salon, and ask what they can do for you, i really cant tell you that some style would or wouldn't work with your hair by a pic on the comp. Book an appointment to talk to a stylist and then go in, if tom wellings hairstyle cant work, i am sure they will help you find one that will!! Good Luck!!

Hey Guitar, First off get a good trim and possibly a deep conditioning treatment at your salon, and then you can buy deep conditioners and shampoos that are made for dry damaged hair. Also ditch the straightner, blow dryer and other styling tools until your hair gains back some health!! Then only use every so often to prevent your hair from getting fried off!!

there is not way to get ur hair like it is when u come out of the shower, the reason your hair is like that is because its weighed down by the moister in it from the water. Every product has ingredients to prevent evaperation so no product will make ur hair feel the same as it does out of the shower. The one thing you can do is heat style it the way you want it with a good product and then it should stay set for the rest of the day. Also gel is not harmful to your hair, just stay away from gels with a high concentration of alochol!

That's a bad pic of my hair, but after a few days of not washing my
hair, the curls straighten out (and I'm left with wavy hair). I'd love
to my hair like Tom Welling's (actor from the show, Smallville). Is
that even possible? I really like Tom Welling's hair, and would give
anything to have it. What other hair style should I go for (if the Tom
Welling style isn't feasible)? Thanks in advance. ^_^

You probably can't get it back to normal. Just try everything we suggested, and if that doesn't work, expect to get a 1/2" trim each month til you grow the damaged section out.
You have stopped straightening, haven't you?
When you say "straighteners", do you mean a straightening iron, or did you do chemical straightening, too? If you did chemical straightening, you hair is probably fried. the sooner you start trimming, the better.
hey i dont know if this has been asked but my hair looks really good
when wet. i tried using wax while my hair was wet but it still dries
up. how do i keep my hair looking the way it does when i comb it out of
the shower and not having it hardened but soft with that look? id
prefer not to use gel because it hardens and i heard is also bad for ur
hair. thanx

hey Shpike, (and everyone else) It all depends on what HIS hair type is, and what YOUR hair type is. If he has really straight fine hair to start with he probly wouldn't need a straighting iron to style it that way, But u gotta realize when your looking at pics of famous people, they probably had about 3 "of the best" hairstylists working on them, that includes colorists and stylists, with that hair is gotta look perfect. In the real world, your neighborhood hairdresser probly isn't near the quality and you still need to copy the style at home. The hairstyle is definatly copiable, but you just need to realize with this and any other professional pic, movie, poster whatever, these people are celbs, there surrounded by the best who know best what to do. If your hair is straight u probly wont need a straighting iron to style it, just some good wax, u may want an iron anyways tho to add a nice finishing touch, good luck and I hope it works out for u. Remember, dream big, just not TOO big!!! Hope that helps!!

Hey schuey, umm, ok, i think u should go into a salon and ask them those questions, its really hard for me to tell you what to do because i know nothing of your hair type or anything that it does, phone in and ask if u can come for some free consultaion, bring that pic and ask them if they think it would work on you and if it will what you will need to create the look later!! If all goes well and they believe that it will work, set an appointment and watch them carefully when they style your hair to see how to do it on your own, also ask them what styling products they recomend on use of your hair!!! Hope that helps!!

Well i have never been asked that question before!!! Lol, no i dont think there is anyway to permenantly change your part, u can however train your hair to go a certain way by combing it and styling it in a certian direction everyday until it wants to do it naturally, but the thing is, as soon as u stop, ur natural part will find a way to shine through. But hopefully that helps. As for the other question, go to your salon and ask them to thin out your hair, it works great!!! Laterz
