Any advice???If you cut so much off just this summer and want it to grow.. my first question is:.why are you trimming at all at this point? Trimming the hair is an issue that is divided by what is good for each individual. Someone who is prone to split ends needs to go for regular baby trims.. I do not get split ends so I can go for many months with no trims as long as my ends do not dry out too bad. That is what I suffer with.. keeping my ends moisturized. Since having found good quality products my ends have been doing great. You need to go to a salon or a stylist who will respect your wishes. The last time I went in for a trim in June, I really laid the law down about how much to take off. I had an attitude like my length was super important. I only went to get some length taken off to remove layers done back at the beginning of the year. Maybe you have a friend or family member that will respect your wishes and can cut your hair within your desired range. Noreen has found a barber shop that actually treats long hair with respect..you may look into that. I have heard quite alot of postive things about razor trims. If you are sincere about growing out your hair, you need to find guide lines that work for you and someone you can sincerely trust. Cher~

You could try trimming every 6-8 weeks instead of every four weeks or less. Logic: if you trim too often, the hair would always be at that same length no matter how much it has grown.

I am trying to grow my hair out. I cut it real short during the summer and now I regret it. I have heard that getting your hair trimmed everyonce in a while is good for your hair, but everytime I get it trimmed, they take too much off. I always tell them to take a quarter of an inch off, but it always ends up the same length as it was when I first go it cut. Any advice???
