Hi,I am sorry that some of you have experienced negative experiences with ARTec recently.I need to remind everyone who tries new hair care products that not all products work for all hair. That is a guarantee. So what is a miracle product for one head of hair may definitely not help another head of hair. This does not mean that the people who have had great luck or "miraculous" results with a product line are right or wrong about the product. It just means that they found what works for them. The same is true for people who try a product with "great press" and have disappointing results. As Dave Decker mentions in his HB article on ARTec, the first time or so that he used the product he did have some tangling with the product. This is common with new products. Sometimes the product is richer of a different composition than what your hair is used to. Sometimes there is damage that a new product will uncover. Sometimes there is product buildup. Then again, sometimes it just does not work on your hair. That is why the experts say that you should give a hair care product at least a couple of shampoos before you deem it a success or failure.I want to stress as much as I possibly can that....again..not every product works for everyone. No matter what.It does not mean that a product is bad or good. It is an individual experience. When you read about a "miracle" product on the Hair Talk or Hair Boutique please keep in mind that there are no guarantees that it will work for you. The only option you have is to try it and see.If you buy a product that you do not like or does not seem to work that does not mean that you are wrong or that everyone else is right about the product. It just means that your hair is not compatible with that specific formula.I love Aveda but not ALL Aveda works well on my hair. I love ARTec but again...on parts of the line work great on my hair. Same with Phyto, same with KMS and on and on and on.When I am testing products for HB I always ask some of my friends with all different types of hair to try the product. I have yet to find an unanimous "win" on a new product. That is because everyone has different hair.If you buy a product and do not like it.....take it back to where you bought it and ask for a refund or a credit or even exchange it for your normal product that works for you.Best wishes,Karen> I also found that the ARTec Smoothing line wasn't as> moisturizing as I had hoped. I had a somewhat similar experience. I went out and bought the smoothing line of Artec products and the only one that seemed to help was the smoothing serum but is still not as good, in my opinion, as the Styling Curessence by Aveda. I tried the Texture Shine gel by Artec and was really disappointed - I got more tangles and breakage too.I usually use the Glossing Wax by Citre Shine which is a miracle hair product for me! (I just hope all the ingredients are OK - but it really makes my hair soft, silky and very combable while my hair seems stronger.) My hair is damaged from highlights on top of many semi-permanent colors on top of more highlights and so on. Well, I heard so many good things about Artec that I ran right out and bought the smoothing shampoo and the smoothing conditioner. I actually shampoo'd my hair twice this weekend; the first time cause I was so excited about the new products and the second time because I went to bed with wet hair and woke up with a tangled mass (yuck!). I've got mixed opinion about it... I'm used to my hair feeling very soft and "moisturized" after using my normal shampoo but with the Artec my hair felt rough and more tangle prone-- the conditioner didn't change that feeling really. I definitely had more tangles than normal when I combed my hair out, although as it was drying it started to feel pretty soft. The second time I washed my hair, I used the Sebastian Potion #9 as leave in conditioner and my hair felt much better. All in all, I've decided to try the Artec one more time and then if my results aren't better, I'll give it away... It seems to me I did notice some breakage while I was combing my hair out, and I haven't seen that in a while. I was wondering if kiwi (one of the main ingredients in Artec smoothing shampoo and conditioner) is a fruit with a high concentration of vitamin C because my experience with my relaxed hair has been any item with a high vitamin C level makes my hair very dry and more fragile. Anyone else have this experience with Artec?
