HI, don''t worry....this is a new start for you to become natural and explore your options. You''ll find that your hair will feel and heal so much better that way!
I grew out my perm about 9 months ago and didn't go the press and curl route however I have heard that your permed hair will break off...I just kept putting braids and weaves and let it grow until I got sick of it and cut it all off. There are also a lot of hairstyles that will camofloge(that could be spelled wrong?) the new growth like wet sets, twists in the front or braid and let go...patience is the vertue!
I went from relaxed to natural about 2 years ago, but my hair was short at the time (like Halle Berry short) so I think that helped alot. Now my hair is shoulder length, thick and much more healthier than it's ever been. I try to use natural products in my hair to keep it moist. No petrolium, no gel or alcohol based products because that drys out the hair. Just give it some time and be patience! Good luck!

I have had a perm since I was seven years old. I am now 22 and feel it is time to let the perm go. I have terrible dandruff and my skin has starting peeling at my hair line on my forehead. My beautician of only a few months has told me that I can go straight from getting a perm to getting my hair pressed by just getting it pressed when it's time for my next perm. I have always heard that if you go straight from perming to pressing all of your hair will fall out. Will my hair fall out if I start to press?!? Please let me know because my hair is healthy and long and I do not want it to fall out. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. How should I go about letting go of my perm?!!?
