I wanna shave off this crap lol

I know I might be a lil late on this post,but here's my lil input. I had been relaxing my hair for about 10 years and dying it for about 4 years before I decided to get it cut off. It wasreally short...I'm talking Jada in "Scream 2" short,but I liked it. I used a Dark and Lovely Peppermint shampoo for a few months,then I fell into a regimen of shampooing,conditioning,and air drying. I cut my hair December 15,2003 and as of today,my hair is long enough to touch my shoulders when it's straight.

My point is this....try to not relax your hair for a couple of months and see if you like the texture of it. Find a style that would look really good on you with your natural texture as well as straight (if you choose to flat-iron or blow dry) and go get it cut. If you're still not sure,you can buy a wig that is approximately the same texture and style that you desire and wear it for a while to see how it looks. I know that since cutting my hair,it's stronger than it's ever been,and I don't feel so guilty when I dye my hair (lol). Do what you feel comfortable with,but make sure to get the facts and pros/cons!

Well, Im about to say this and i dont care if anyone gets mad cause i speak my mind. You should cut it short if you want to and dont listen to anyone else. Its only hair it will grow back. Im also mixed race and my hair was really long, but i decided i wanted to get a change and i cut my hair short and i like it. My hair grows good and it is already growing back. My mom didnt like it at first but she got use to it. I dont advise getting at perm. I never have and i never will, they are bad and will damage your hair. Thats the bottom line on that but i wont tell you what to do with your hair. That just my opinion, My hair was thick long and curly,(im also mixed so i might could help you with products) but like i said i wanted to make a change and i did it. It hot here were i live in texas and i cut my hair short for the summer at least. Who knows i may leave it like that Cause i like it. Anyway do what you want to do.

U have very beautiful hair! What is your heritage? I used to have hair like that until I chose to cut it of in short layers, it was actually very cute but hairstyles were kind of limited because of my hair texture. I'm also mixed; creole, white, and indian. maybe we could swap ideas sometime!

i switch up shampoos alot, because after a while my hair gets used to them. if im trying to get out alot of styling products, i use that cheap .89 cent suave shampoo because its pretty potent. But most of the time I use Pantene's women of color line. It leaves my hair super soft but I dont use it if ive had alot of gel in my hair cause it never really cleans my hair. It feels more like a conditioner.

thanks for the advice...glad i didnt cut it- i pulled my hair back to see how i would look...my face woouldnt look cute with a shorter do. i guess im impulsive- i tend to do things on a whim but glad i didnt. for the summer i'll just keep it up in a bun. its just so hot sometimes and heavy and washing it is a b---ch. lol

before my hair was past my rear now its to my waist. YES THAT IS MY REAL HAIR. but does anyone else just feel like going short? Its soo hot in fla, and I have to get perms. Sometimes the humidity makes the new growth look kinda ...eww you know? But I dont want to go so short I look boyish. ANyone else in the same situation? Do you think i should stay long or short? Hey, hair grows back anyways lol
