When you bleach your hair only put the bleach on the roots.. If you can get ahold of some paul mitchell bleach use that.. If you send me a paypals I can send you some.. The reason I say paul mitchell is because it is a onscalp bleach.. Make sure what ever bleach you use it says on scalp. try not to ich or wash your hair before you bleach it. You should apply it 1/4" away from the scalp.. dont worry it will swell all the way up.. do not bleach all your hair only the roots.. and to make it a cool blond I would use a PM Shine 9bv blue purple base.. i can send you that to.. that will cut all the orange that you have left dont use anything overe a 20dev on the scalp.. take tiny little sections thats the key..
i used 20 vol
it's toning itself down wtih time. i bought shimmer lights conditioner
from sally today, and tmy hair really isnt too bad. ill take a pic to
show you guys. but like i said im jsut gonna give my poor fine, thin
hair a rest for now

AmethystKat...I'm not sure what volume developer you used, but if it
was a higher number, that would be more likely to burn your
scalp. Another round of 20 vol bleach will take you to yellow,
and if you're really careful to keep it off your scalp, it shouldn't
burn. Also, don't wash your hair too soon before bleaching--the
oil helps protect your scalp from the bleach. Twenty-four hours
between shampoo and bleach can really make a difference. Good
luck!
kris--my roots are orange, the rest is light blonde. my natural hair
color is dark blonde. i know i didn't leave the bleach on long enough
because it was burning the hell out of my scalp. what do you think i
should do?
my hair is light blonde, it is not orange. i know that purple counteracts orange and blue counteracts yellow. i just like my blonde to be a cool shade, so I use blue base toner on it, but I would like a shampoo to help tone it as well. Someone told me about blu shampoo at the salon, but I don't know what brand it was.

Hello.. First of all what is your hair color,.. as soon as i no that i can help you.. If your hair is orange that means that you didnt leave the bleach on long enough.. is your roots orange and the ends and shaft ok or is that orange to. Try to be on here at 7:00pm my time I live in cali.. I can help you I just have to see your hair and I cant so I need to see it from you.. You need to tell me everything. Ill help you those purple shampoos are not going to help..
I have used a generic version and clairol shimmerlights that are both purple. Im not sure if people just have different color perceptions or if there are some that are blue and some that are purple? Ya got me...?
i want to get blue shampoo, but i know the generic version of shimmer lights is purple. And I thought that the real shimmer lights is purple too. What shampoo is blue??
now that you have put a toner on, if you put another toner on it, it could possible go grey if one of them contains ash, so don't put another toner on.. if you usually bleach your hair.. leave it for a week, and then bleach it again..
if you do bleech after bleach it doesn't take as well, and also damages your hair a lot more..
i've done this to my hair before, and ended up spending more on bleach than i would have done to get it done at a salon in the end, and it was still patchy so i ended up at the salon anyway..

a couple of inches.Sorry it took so long to post back, lol.I dint know you were talking to me.I go to a stylist now .She is awsome with color. She lifted my #3 dark brown to wonderful shades of dark blondes and lights with some caramels.Plus my hair is much healthier than when I home dyed.
I agree with Boogiemama, if you hair wasn't sufficiently lifted through the orange stage, no amount of toner or blue shampoo will help you. You will need to lift past the orange stage, and then tone.
If your hair isn't lightened to the appropriate level, no toner or blue
shampoo will get rid of the orange. You need to lighten it more.
How long were your roots?
fyi, the purple shampoo saved my life like a month ago, it's $5, you should always have it your shower if any of your hair is bleached bc your hair will absorb deposits from the water eytc that regular shampoo will not remove.
