Hair LOC removal

the biggest problem with any extensions is the install and removal-

for hairlocs, if the stylist is not schooled or seasoned with doing extensions very long, the client can pay a price of damage to hair.

if the locs are not removed or opened carefully, then your hair can get broken.

i remover or open the locs with their tool very carefully only inserting the prongs in the open corner,  or i also

 use a different tool to remove, it rounds out the loc instead of the pronge remover.

care and gentleness needs to be done with any removal, glue, shrinks what ever. Some stylist are in a hurry and can break your hair.

During the install it is important to have clean neat sections without hair from the sides being pulled in. The extension also needs to not be installed too close to the scalp, this prevents breakage too.

However, there are stylist out there that are very consiciious about how we install and remove. make sure whoever you go to, you ask to see their portfolio and ask to get references that you can see and talk to in person. There are alot of great stylist out there and alot on this board. Do your reseach like you ae doing

Everything that Amm and Tangles said.  Also, I had hairlocs/eurolocs for 2.5 years.  I had a lot of breakage but a lot of it was due to not maintaining it or brushing it correctly, and also ripping them apart to separate them.  My extensionist did not give me correct information.  Still, I started with a lot of hair, so I still have a lot of hair.  I had matts and dreads to work out everytime I took the extensions out, and after I washed and conditioned a few times, and lost the shedding hair, it did seem like I had a lot less hair. 

FYI, I am now using Shrinkies and love them a lot more than I ever liked hairlocs. They are soft, and I believe they are a LOT easier on my hair.

after wearing any extension for two mths, your natural shedding is locked into the shell or tube or even glue, so naturally you will have some of your own shedded hair come out- it seems like alot and when you think about it- we loose (shed) about 150 strands of our own hair PER day- so figure all the "natural" shedding was in the extension.

Also after wearing extensions for a while, we get used to having thicker hair, so once the extensions are out, yes it feels like we have no hair. i feel the same way every time i take mine out, its like oh my gosh, my hair is so thin, well it is thin! i got used to the thickness of my extensions.

dont worry a few days of no extensions and you will feel back to normal.

Hey everyone... i was just wondering where I can find the tool to take out my hairlocs? What is the best process to do it? I like them but my hair is getting tangled real bad! Its only been 2 months... HELP please!
