Kirsty, the important thing is whether or not you
like your extensions. It doesn't matter what anyone else
things. I know it's easier to say that than to live it.
However, when I was in college, I went to a rather conservative school,
and I had pink hair, purple hair, cherry red hair, you name it!
No one else did, and to them, I was so weird. But I liked my hair
(and wish I could still have it). Frankly, I think they were
jealous because I felt that it was okay to be different and not be
another little product of the cookie cutter.
Dare to be different, chica! You're just that much cooler!

aww thanks for your kind words made me feel much better. ye i think i need 2 just not be embaressed if people know iv extensions as you say lods of girls wear other fake stuff like boobs n nails.
im going to keep them in and finish my install cos they cost me $$ and i spent some hard work and i like them and my mum says it looks lovely and i like it, so im not going to be bullied. and your right if i take them out they will think they have won. theyr just picking on me cos i look different. i dont want to take them out and be the same as them.
and even if its not perfect... so what im just having fun..
They probably noticed guys staring at you,or giving you extra attention cause of your new gorgeous hair.As soon as girls notice someone else getting all the guys attention the claws come out.It really just boils down to jealousy. And they're probably jealous that they're too poor from college and not as hair savvy as you to have their own extensions.
... or is it confidence?... or a 2x4 ....? Ah, I can never remember.
Trial and error, I say, until you get it right.
Regardless, don't give in! It's true, the only reason they're picking on you
is they're threatened cuz when they see you, they feel they don't measure
up, so they try to chop you down. Don't let them!
{{{{Hugs}}}}}
I love your hair and you are very pretty. Don't you dare take out
your hair because that is what these girls want. Next time you
hear something like this call them on it. Maybe they think you
are embarrassed to have hair extensions. If you play it off like
so what, I do -or you could say, "I just overheard you and yes I do
wear hair extensions. Would you like me to show you how to do
your hair because it is so much fun." Come off as being sweet and
confident and you can't loose.

if your extensions really did look bad, they wouldnt have said anything to your face. instead they wouldve snickered at you in glee behind your back with the thought that you didnt know you looked like sh*t... saying something means their jealous : ) and hang in there, yes that happens with women of all ages but im 22 now and can say i haven't seen it as much as when i was 17-18. your a beautiful girl dont let them get you down

Oh sweetie! I spent two years in therapy and battled bulimia during
highschool trying to deal with what other girls said about me. When I
wa heavier no one noticed me and then suddenly when I lost all that
weight everyone went around talking about how I was a skank and
stuff.
I'm just now learning to not listen to what other say about me. Those
girls WERE jealous. They probably either couldn't figure out how your
hair looks so great and got so long or they think that you have lots of
money cuz you can afford such great extensions.
Also I remmeber a girlfriend of mine was being teased about her nose by
two girls in the library at her uni. Turns out one of their friends
tried to hook up with my friend's boyfriend before they dated. I guess
they were just bitter.
Women are mean to each other sometimes. I work in the beauty industry and the things I've seen! And I'm only 21!
I've had women step on my feet and push me out of the way and just be
all out rude to me. I think they just get threatened and so they have
to find something wrong with you to prove that they are better than
you.
And when you think about it, there are more women than men on the
planet. So maybe they just make up stuff to shrink your self esteem so
that you won't leave the house and they won't have to compete with you
(although judging from your photos and posts, there is no competition:)
) . Lazy bitches! *Big hug* Feel better!!!

Shoot, I cant tell you how often Ive gotten snarky remarks regarding extensions (sometimes I WANT them to look fake), or my boobs (implants), nails, makeup, clothes, whatever have you.
I usually just smile and say "At least I can afford it" and walk off.

this is the difference between females and women - and i mean "real" women..what is a woman anyway? a woman is MATURE or ADULT female..
a female is learning what maturity is..she is growing into her womanhood..mentally, physically, and emotionally...some females, though they have grown physically (the boobs, reproductive organs, hormones, etc.), never ever get to that point in life where the mental, or the emotional maturity has kicked in...they may be 30, 40, sometimes 50 years old - and still don't get it....
the ones who are strong, have a good sense of self, respect, toughness, gentleness, class, acknowledges others accomplishments, basically has grown into her maturity, is a woman..she would be the one who leads by example..
if those young ladies cannot show maturity, then you must be the one to rise above them..it is not worth worrying about being their friend. if they become really friendly, something is amiss..who wants to be friends with people like that anyway?...the most important goal at this point is getting through your classes...i've had some hard bumps in life when it comes to trying to be popular, and wanting to be "liked"... having had many, many jobs, and careers in my less than 50 years..i was paid for my services...the only job i was never paid for, was trying to please everyone, or being liked...
Hell, i've seen guys make fun of women with extensions...they are "guys" or "males"...they have a long way to go before they become men...
Yes, don't you take them out. They obviously look good or they wouldn't be saying anything about them. Catty girls only get catty when they are jealous and threatened. If it was ugly, they wouldn't have a word to say because they would be too busy ripping on someone else with better hair, better body, better car than them.
Once Delta Delta Delta Dorka finds out you put those in yourself, they will all be kissing your butt trying to get you to do their extensions.

Sweetheart, think of it this way. When people are threatened or insecure, they say dumb s@#t. Usually they think about it later and are sorry. It's just a fact, especially young people who don't know themselves yet. You just be yourself
