^ lol man shut up... n way b4 pomade people use to put animal fat (lard) in their hair. as we all know pomade doesnt make waves brushing did and when people believed brushing hair a lot made your hair healthy (over a hundred times a day) people did so. and as black men followed this process to get healthy hair they noticed litle ripples inb their hair and began telling people about them

It might go back a little further than that I was reading something about Egyptians putting bees wax in thier hair to get it to lay. Who really knows when it came about there just the fisrt to doc*ment it. It was probably long before that.
