questions about shrinkies ?

Not completely! =) I'm sometimes really retarded when it comes to
something completely simple, but the more difficult things I master. I'm
weird. I'm dislexic and a lefty....don't make fun of me.

approximately how much hair do i need if i have fine, shoulder length hair and want to get volume and a bit of increased length?

Would you recommend blending two colours ?

Could you please give me some pointers on the best areas to install the shrinkies so that they aren't visible and have the greatest effect ?

How long will the shrinkies last ?

If i want to remove the shrinkies do  i just put the remover on the shrinkes ?

I lost clumps of hair when I removed shrinkies for the first time, too.  It was due, I think, to inexperience.  Now, I can take out a shrinkie and not lose any hair.  You just have to be sure that it his hot enough and very gently slide it down your hair.  If you have to tug at it, it's not hot enough.

Ok, now for my 2 cents worth:

I literally have done over 100 installs with shrinkies and I have never seen any damage done with them.  Like any method, one needs to take care upon removal.  I use the orange remover and it works just fine.

For me, I am the opposite. I will never again in my entire life do shrinkies.

As far as installing, a breeze. I, will admit, I am mircolink biased. The only
thing that was a killer for me is that I had to melt my keratips into
shoelace, then did the extensions, and had no finger and thumb
protectors, so, i got some little burns and blisters from the night of doing
that (which was horrible for me because I'm a massage therapist!) So
point is, if you are doing alot, get the protectors.

Otherwise, they stayed in well, and I had no problems with them.

My problem was taking them out. I think I had lots of melt downs, but it
took me FOREVER to take them out. I used the orange oil, coconut oil,
some acetone, and even about a month and a half later, I still had some
glue in my hair that I just recently cut out.

They did no damage to my hair that I could tell of while they were in, but
while trying to take them out, I lost TONS of hair. Even ones that came
out easily had CHUNKS of my natural hair in it. After the shrinkies, I have
way thinner hair, and some areas are actually kinda balding (you can't tell
luckily)

Granted, so many people love them. I may be did something wrong (no
way I doubt that!) But still, it was a horrible experience for me.

Now, I am sticking to the microlinks. I love those, no real problem yet.

If you will click on the poll method, you'll find most prefer shrinkies.  That isn't the case for me.  They actually pull some of my hair out on removal, plus the orange oil everybody uses burns my skin.  I'm a fusion fan.  Easy on...and easy off.  No wielding a hot clamp around the back of your head trying to hit the little tube.  Just a squirt of acetone, a crunch of pliers and they are out of there.  So far it's my favorite.  I do have some tape to try...I can't read about something on here and not try it.  But I always go back to fusion.
