But people always want something other than what they have, and a lot
of old people dye their hair to cover up the fact their white - like
you say Kuroneko, because it looks so ordinary.

Isn't that always the way-- white hair looks so cool on young people, yet we don't get it (without a long, harsh chemical process, anyway :-P ) until we're so old it looks ordinary -_- . . .

Depends what your natural colour is. If you have very light
blonde or platinum hair, almost white, then it will get close but will
need toners etc. Otherwise, it is not possible because the hair
needs to be lifted in several stages.
From black/dark brown, to lighter reddy brown, to reddy orange, to
yellowy orange, to yellow, to pale yellow...it just can't make all of
those jumps in one step unfortunately.
