HAIR EXTENSIONS RUINED MY HAIR

i had researched a LOT about microrings because i didnt want to put anything sticky in my hair.....but my technique just sucked (even though i still thought i looked real cute!)...if i had a trustworthy pro to put them in i think it would be the method i'd still be using....i could never get used to laying my head on the pillow with them though

dont be nervous bunnywabbit, i sucked at installing microrings!

ooo im late on this one, but i simply MUST chime in

after using clip ins, my first longer-term install for DIY was microrings....my unrefined ablity to install, my too-aggressive brushing (with the wrong brush), and already overly-bleached hair all came together in the universe to make the most horrendous discovery when i took them all out after not quite a month

i had many areas of breakage, up where the rings were installed...but the overall result was hair that looked SHORTER....there was NO mid-strand or end-of-strand breakage, but apparently my longer hairs were the ones to get pulled/broken from my crappy intall and care

i have successfully worn wefts installed with protac and Liquid Gold since then, my hair recovered.....but i also have taken steps to treat my own hair better, you can find a lot of good information on hair boutique in the 'long hair care' section.....good luck with your hair!

I think frenchie also said that she had a different routine for hair care which likely contributed to the hair getting shorter.

I remember that when I was wearing fusion, installed by me, not a professional, I saw my natural hair getting shorter and shorter between installs.

i dint ask for advice i just said i wanted to share my horrible story to be careful with extensions and some nice girls were trying to help me figure out what happend.  if u have a prblem with me then no need to help me out  but thanks for the advice anyways.

ive been using redken hair products and chi and sedu hair straightners for the past 3 years so i really dont think $100 hair straightner would just break off 3 inches of hair in 2 months plus i didnt even iron my bottom hair bc it just blended in wit the extensions i only straightened the top.

Hi Angelica, I think DivaVocals hit the nail right on the head when she said that you're not going to listen to any of us. My advice would be not to use the clip-ins either because it's the same concept really. If you only see damage at the bottom then the clip-ins are going to damage your ends even more.
