Alternatives to High Heat Styling

Definitely, low heat (or no heat) and low fan speed.  Even low heat is pretty hot, so if you use low heat, be sure not to focus the dryer on any one spot  -- just move it around constantly.

I haven't used a blowdryer in over 10 years.  But I live in Florida, so going outside in freezing weather with wet hair is not a concern.

My thoughts on velcro rollers is that if you handle the hair very carefully, it won't damage your hair.  Others (people who actually use them ) may have differing thoughts.
