asinnamon- maybe try and mock lining up the strand without dipping...and getting the idea of it prior to using the hot bond. just a thought, cuz i'm going to try that next time while the bond is melting, kinda like a "warm up" exercise.

Honestly, I tried to do the individuals on myself and no thanks! I couldn't get clean sectioning and all of my bonds were crooked with cross hairs stuck in them. Oh and I burned my fingers, it was great.

It is not that serious. She knows she's free to ask questions, we all are. I was just suggesting that she read the info we had discussed already and if she had more questions I'm sure she would have asked, which she hasn't so far.
She doesn't appear to feel ridiculed, why do you feel she has? From the many exchanges I've had with her she has never come off as a touchy, easliy insulted person who needs someone to come to her rescue. She's a grown woman and I've not seen her have any problem at all speaking up if she feels slighted ,which she has not done.

GIRL, STOP STARTING ALL OF THESE NEW THREADS!!!! Do a search we've discussed them already.
Others may have discussed them already....but perhaps sourgirl would like to discuss them, and has questions of her own? I've offered to discuss them with her, and have offered my opinion and experience with them.
Why, exactly, does that need to be ridiculed? This is what I meant by the topic being "welcomed" to discuss, not saying that it's specifically connected to any rules. I may have misunderstood mshoney's post above, and the shortness of it.
We're all just trying to help each other out here....apologies on my behalf for any confusion with this thread.

Also, in reference to the Tiffany Twist product. I agree, she has been very supportive of everyone trying it. I think it's great that she uses her own product!
It does take some practice at getting the right amount of bond. I've dipped a strand too deep, tapped it too much/too little on the pot's rim. But most importantly, with my go at it, was getting the extension strand lined up good with my hair, then pinching a little at the top, a little at the bottom. Hold it taut between top and bottom, allowing the bond to seep, those 10ish seconds. I've noticed if I didn't have it lined up good, those were the few that I have lost immediately. Or I could tell, after doing a row, and letting it 'set', doing a quick tug, which ones were going to be lost.
If you've dipped too far, you can still use that strand and attach. Valentine has suggested using a flat iron to shorten the bond. As she said, it does just kind of evaporate. You have a little substance on your flat iron that easily wipes off.
The directions might sound complicated...but when you have it there in front of you, it's pretty simple and quick. It's just a matter of tweaking your method of how you use it.

Yes I am sure alot of these women heard the same questions over and over, but some of these threads originated months ago. So I figured ill add a new topic and if they want to answer they will. Mostly everyone on here has been super helpful!
Yes alot of the threads did originate awhile ago, and obviously you already did a search on this site, and are just trying to learn more. So true about the same questions going on, but it's great to get updates and different perspectives from numerous people, not just one person...especially when you're new to a certain type of hair or method.

nope, no rules at all, we've discussed some wild stuff here.
The Tiffany Twists discussions were fun, those girls put that system to it's paces and Tiffany was so helpful not pushing her product but giving real help and didn't get defensive at all when concerns were raised. Very professional. All of the testing and feedback and the her character helped me to decide to buy the TT. I plan to try them for highlights and some other stuff that the girls here have taken the time to research.
As I said before, I never go by what the vendors say, I do my own exhaustive research before I buy any product, including hair.

Hey Diva. We asked pooks just about every question imaginable about the TT. Tiffany even came on and answered many of our questions herself. And then platnium asked for updates and we asked pooks even more questions.
MileHigh, I completely misunderstood her question. I assumed that when she asked, "I just saw an advertisment for Tiffany Twist. Has anyone ever tried it and if so, what did u think?" That she hadn't read the 4 pages of discussion we had on it already that may answer any questions she may have had on the system.
Hey Sourgirl.. It still wouldn't hurt to check out the other Tffany Twist threads.. (I think that this is what MsHoney was trying to say this ) searched for "tiffany" and got three pages of results.. I took the liberty of posting the first page.. HTH.. Overall there's been some good reviews posted.. If I was into DIY and wanted to try fusion (or something similar) for the first time, this would be the way I would go.. Good luck..

UPDATE: I think I did get a bad batch of the Dlux. I had ordered a clearance weft (price is right for a friend that just wants to try out extensions for fun and let me practice the Tiffany Twist on her) Well, the weft arrived yesterday, and I must say, silky silky silky! Huge difference from the batch I installed on my head. But then again, we'll see how it goes the first week or two of her washing the weft. Even tho I have a new pack of the 18/22 leftover that feels silky, I'm still...
I just saw an advertisment for Tiffany Twist. Has anyone ever tried it and if so, what did u think? I've tried it for the first time a week ago. I love the ease of it! I did a search and it doesn't look like it's really been discussed at HB for over a month. At that point, the 'rules'suggest to just start a new thread. No harm in doing that at all. Quite a few members at DIYE are using Tiffany Twist, and have alot of free discussion on it and plenty of info. PM...

I had purchased the Dlux back when it was only 25% off. There has been alot more postive than negative regarding the hair's quality. I wasn't concerned with any shedding issue, as I was using the Tiffany Twist. I've used the8A/14b, 18/22, and some 613 for highlights. Iinstalled it last friday. After the first shampoo/cond (using Pureology) I realized I didn't care for the 613...the strands were too light for a match to my highlights. When I removed them, the some of the strands...

PLEASE help me find a cheaper alternative to my GL Posted: July 16 2007 at 6:49pm
Yes- a lot of people are having great results with the Tiffany Twist if you want to do another strand-by-strand. If you want the very best in hair, like Bunny & Malibu said, it will be Russian Virgin. Definitely check out the site Bunny suggested for more info on suppliers. You can get it in bulk and install it strand-by-strand, or you can have it wefted in a hand-tied weft and use another method of install. Sew-in would prob. be a great method for you since you already know how much you love...
PLEASE help me find a cheaper alternative to my GL Posted: July 16 2007 at 3:37pm
Oh I forgot about what I actually use currently - Tiffany Twist, its installed very similar to fusion/GL but its a different substance entirely, I feel very gentle on the hair (though I can't personally compare it to fusion). It has a definate learning curve and can be hard to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, its amazing! I belive there were a few threads on it lately if you do a search.
Loving the Tiffany Twist Posted: July 14 2007 at 4:23pm
I'm loving the Tiffany Twist, next week I'll be posting photos. I can actually condition my entire head while wearing it. It's comfortable and I don't worry about the bonds showing. I still wear one row of weft to fill in my thin hair. I'm writing up all the information so I can give all the details. So next week expect the full review and pictures. I'd post pics now but the augenmerk is coming to the end of its life. & the Tiffany Twist is a wax derivative. The...
Shampoos and extension hair? Posted: July 13 2007 at 6:27pm
Ok so I was going to schedule a consult for a sew-in at a nice salon, but then I found out that I have a friend who can corn row pretty well (and her boyfriends other daughter can do them REALLY well apperently soon as shes back in town) so she is going to make my track and I'm going to sew-in it myself. I feel confident that I can do the sewing part, but what sort of things should I make sure she does with the braid?
I want to start with one or two tracks - what shape/placement will get...
Overwhelmed and in need of advice Posted: July 10 2007 at 4:46pm
I really love the tiffany twist, I have fine thin hair and do one layer of trumpets on the weft & rest tiffany twist. It removes easily and I no longer want to use any acetone on my head. It does some great bonds around the face too.
Hair Extensions advice! Posted: July 05 2007 at 9:59am
I think the first sign of advertising is when you call the person on it and they play dumb. TiffanyTwist is doing the same thing as we speak. It's becoming textbook.
What shampoo/conditioner/styling prods do you use? Posted: June 20 2007 at 4:42am
I purchased liter duos of Pureology's Nanoworks poo and cond for $90 off ebay. The investment has been more than worth it! I don't have an install yet, as I wanted to use the Nanoworks and see the effect it had on my natural hair first. After a week of use, my hair feels thicker, softer/smoother, and overall healthier. (I'm a dark blonde with highlights...the typical overprocessed victim) Plus, I LOVE the scent best of all Pureology products. Plus I only have to usea little, so these...
Hi there chick, life isbrill at the moment, I'm just finishing off setting up my own salon which is exciting, I'll post pictures when its done. There has been a new method come about called Tiffany Twist which sounds quite good. A few people are testing it at the moment so we're keeping our fingers crossed. Amm has brought out a few new tapes, one of which I've tried, prostix which is wicked, its a matt tape so its ace around the top as it doesn't shine. Howz the modelling...
Review of TiffanyTwist System Posted: June 01 2007 at 6:16pm
Hi all, Tiffany.
I found your website about a week ago and was very intrigued by your product. Currently, I have great lengths extentions in and they have been in now since Feb!. That's coming up on 4 months. They need to be removed, however like just about everyone has complained.......my hair is a mess in the sense I feel I have a lot of breakage and damage from the regular extentions. ( I had them professionally done in a salon). I want something that WON'T damage my hair and I do...
Sew In Wefts vs Individual Strands Posted: May 30 2007 at 3:38pm
I like my Tiffany Twist install so much that I have sworn off wefts altogether, but as you know, everyone is different. I feel that having my scalp free to breathe is much more comfortable. As for swimming, I am going on vacation next week and plan on swimming with them in :) I will keep everyone posted.
I guess I'm used to wefts because I totally don't notice this track BUT I do remember thinking the individuals were a lot more natural feeling for sure!

Sew In Wefts vs Individual Strands Posted: May 30 2007 at 1:29pm
the THEORY is that with wefts, the weight is distributed across a wider section of scalp, and attaches to more hair, and is thereby pulls less on the roots.
The latest popular methods are sew-ins (which when done well are very safe and comfortable) and quite a few girls are trying tiffany twist's new bond for individuals. Its not a fusion technically though it is done the same way.
For swimming, I'd stay away from fusion or any type of adhesives, since the water and chlorine could...
If you want a strand install TT is the method I'd recommend. It took a while to get the hang...but the take-down is totally worth it. No acetone, no pliers...and it smells nice too!
