Tell your barber to use a 1.5 or 2 guard. It really depends on your hair texture. Do you already have waves?

You should be able to see the guards, and I wouldnt see or expect an even cut without guards.  only time it is even coo to use no guards really (imo) is when shaping a picked out afro for that steve harvey afro clean look

Yeah thats not something you play around with , it's your hair and your money make sure you know for a fact what guard he's using.

Dont assume things, just ask him first if he is using correct guards.
