IActually I spent the weekend at home trying to kick my bronchitis for good (made good progress on that front) and rented some movies. I rarely do that. It was a rare treat. One of the movies I watched had bullying (girl on girl) in high school. The movie is based on a "true story". I was shocked. Apparently it is a major problem in schools these days.
Good for you.. Kick your feet up girl.. Eat some popcorn..

That would make sense wouldn't it?
I belong to an MSN forum (The Wig Support Group). It's a heavily moderated forum because they want to keep out the nasty posts.. I don't mind, and I even understood why they deleted my 1st post regarding our upcoming LA luncheon.. The moderator was really nice about explaining it.. So I just made the required changes and reposted.. So it's one of the better MSN forums..

krisma there are alot of mean people out there that enjoy saying mean and cruel things to people.
Have you ever checked out msn message boards? Its unreal. There are always so many negative mean and cruel posts that I wont even post on the msn boards. It just amazes me when I read some of it.
I prefer happy little communities (such as this one) where people are supportive and friendly....there is enough negativity out there!
Hi Sher,
Thanks for the kind words about our little community here. And thanks to all who post here because you are all truly supportive and friendly.
I used to write a blog for a big celebrity photo site. They took the blogs down for a number of reasons (software problems was one of them) but dealing with the nasty responses was another major issue. They eventually turned off thet option for people to post responses. But you should have seen the nastiness. Bizarre.
I have also seen similar hate postings at Craig's list but NOT like MSN. That has to be the worst of the worst. I am surprised MSN lets that continue. A lot of big advertisers will not advertise on sites with that type of hate postings on their forums. I always wonder about that.

You can kind of expect this kind of behavior from young people but when grown tailed women who should know better, who claim to be professionals with children and grandchildren.... It makes you wonder what type of people their children and grandchildren are and will be.
I mean you know darn well that the people that do this sort of thing in an anonymous computer setting would never have the guts to make those kind of comments to someone's face on the street.
Exactly!!! That's because it's VERY EASY to be BRAVE behind a keyboard. Here's my take on this: (I've said this before) Being nasty is EASY.. We can all put on bitch like lipstick when we need to, but being a bitch isn't good for your soul... and let's face it.. Life is way too short!! Especially too short to make nasty comments about people you don't know..

No Im not really into the boards but I have been on some forums where people have just gotten out of control in their cruel personal attacks.
I dont really get it. I mean you know darn well that the people that do this sort of thing in an anonymous computer setting would never have the guts to make those kind of comments to someone's face on the street.
I guess my rule has always been if you wouldnt stand up to your words live, just shutty!

Why would someone trash your work? I must be out of the loop. Is it professional jealousy? Someone really has too much time on their hands. Not to mention you are actually doing something creative in making a video that requires effort and showcases your expertise....the gripers....not so much.
Thank you for your understanding email, very well written!
Even though we know these people have a problem, it's hard not to let it get to you. Usually I'm furious, and want to write back. If I did that I'm sure it would turn into a full scale war. I just don't have the time for that kind of nonsense.
What's really funny is NONE of the critics had a video, or website!!
Hi Mokipono,
I totally hear you. You have to be inhuman not to feel bad when someone is trashing you or your work. Even if you don't know them personally and they don't know you, it is hurtful.
And yes, it is funny that none of the critics have done their own videos or website. Like I said, you have to think they are jealous of your accomplishments.
I have a deal for you. Every time someone posts something mean or sends you a hurtful email, you can email me (shelton@hairboutique.com) any time and I will be happy to listen. It helps if you can talk to someone and then it helps (at least it helps me) realize it is not worth your energy to feel bad.
I for one appreciate all your hard work and I am already #1 in line to buy your new video. I have already told Sherrie to let me know how to buy it because I can't wait. I am sure it will be really good.

I had no idea that bronchitis could last this long. I wish I could invent a miracle cure. Apparently it usually lasts 3-5 weeks.
Yes it can.. and if you ignore it and don't let yourself get better you will end up like I did ON my 30th birthday.. In the hospital with pneumonia.. So STAY in bed and GET SOME REST!!!
Hi Diva,
Oh no...not pneumonia and not on your birthday. How horrible...shudder.
You are totally correct and I have to take better care of myself.
I am happy to report that I did not leave my house today or go to work and spent several hours enjoying myself chatting on the phone with one of my favorite people (even though I am still a little froggy) and did not even work a second of that time.
Of course now I am on the forums...HA HA...but that is not really causing much exertion except to my fingers.
But you are right Diva. I am trying to get better. I am taking this new (to me new) herb called Clear Lungs and it seems to be helping a lot. I have also promised myself to stay home tomorrow. Two days in a row. Hopefully that will help.

mokipono, these people are sorry twats(can we say twats here). They are pathetic and have no lives. Then they get together and talk trash about people. They are pathetic, spiteful Krusty idiots and when you say something back to them they want to know why you're being so agressive towards them.
I know you enjoy your postive reviews but if it get's to be too much just block all comments but don't deny us who appreciate you your videos.

Geez! I'm sorry that bronchitis hasn't passed yet! Hang in there Karen!!
Thanks Malibu. Actually it is partially my fault that I am still sick. I was starting to get better and I did exactly what I know I shouldn't do. I was feeling pretty good on Thursday and Friday and turned the heat on myself working my normal 16 hour days in the office. By last nite I was crashing again. So I am determined to stay home this weekend and take it easier. UGH. I had no idea that bronchitis could last this long. I wish I could invent a miracle cure. Apparently it usually lasts 3-5 weeks.

Great post Karen! Negative words from defeated cowards mean nothing to me
Hi Malibu,
thanks for your post. Good to see you here today. I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. I am working at home today in my PJs. Still fighting the bronchitis but I sound less froggy today.

i really cant imagine how difficult it is to do cornrows. It seems like it would be murder on your hands and cause arthritus over time. Its quite an amazing skill
Yes it is. Actually, my first cosmo teacher at PM told me that she had a hard time braiding. She told us she was "in her 60s" and had been braiding lots of hair for 40+ years. She had arthritus. She did a braiding demo on my hair (I got picked as a model because my hair is so long) and she told me later it really hurt her hands to braid. Even the French braid that she did on me.
I am quite amazed by anyone that does a lot of braiding. They have my total respect.
