Used to be done all the time...I know Amish and Mennonite women do it I think...maybe I need to find a woman from one of those two groups to ask.

I have actually never heard of this at all! I would think burning your hair would be every bad for the ends!  EEK...I have burned mine by accident before and the ends looked awful.

I don't touch my hair with scissors at all, so trimming is not an option for me.  Recently I have found out that split ends can be burnt off.  Normally I don't get split ends, but pregnancy gave me a heap.  I am wanting to know if anyone else knows about burning off split ends with a candle and if salons actually do it for you.  I was thinking maybe an African-American salon might be able to since when they do those braids and then burn the ends together.
