Hey family!! It's been lonesome on BHM nice to see y'all didn'r cybervaporate!!
Before BHM: I was lonely and frustrated in my search for "bangin'" hair. I would roam seeking the "fix" for which could not be found. I went to trade shows but plastic hair on lace was not the high I had to have. While evaluating other vendors I found kindred spirits in the vets of BHM.
After: I remain addicted, but I no longer feign for lace wigs (although I still attack the UPS driver. I also don't "kill' them as fast and learned how to bring some back from the "Dead." The infighting and hate grew tiresome. But the most important feature came from the kindness of other sisters that paid a serious price in time, money and quality to share unselfishly. Real classy, intelligent ladies with giant hearts, immeasurable patience and kindness . . . .especially SEXI. Anywhere she is is a class act, on that you can rely. The BS on BHM became intolerable. Without u guys it's nothing now.
HEY TRESSA AND FLLWLOVER GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE

Before: I actually found this site first & would "lurk" every so often, but BHM had a little more activity. I too found it through here.
After: I ended up transitioning from BSS wigs & tracks to purchasing bulk wefts, then skin wefts from CV. Then of course the Lace wigs came & OFF WENT MY HAIR!

I found BHM through hairextentions 101, I was a weave fanatic and gravitated to the weave section there i learned all the wonders of "REAL" Remi hair and ordering straight from the source and have never looked back. then I discovered the holy grail - the lace front section! I just don't look at weaves the same anymore.

Yeah, the site have technical difficulties, too often for my taste. If it is not one site it is another.
So what stuff would you have not thought to use if it was not from BHM? Can you elaborate on that.
I would have never found products like the Cantu Shea Butter line, I wouldn't be using pure/natural oils (like jojoba, olive), Lustrasilk Shea Butter conditioner..My hair care stash has definetly grown & I also learned what products/ingredients to look for and to watch out for..And since I've ventured into wearing weaves & extensions, BHM has been very helpful

After lurking for a couple of days waiting to get activated, I noticed that HB is alot friendlier.
It is like you are looking for a new home and you first check out the neighborhood before moving. The last neighborhood you were in was a little chaotic and the Commanding Officer was never on duty. I like HB's neighborhood -- I am moving in.
The commanding officer here is on duty, and is very cool too.. Welcome to the neighborhood!!

The difference is in the way forum admin is handled here.. Their theme song outta be "Papa Don't Take No Mess"!!! Karen doesn't allow drama jumping off on her forum.. and I mean NONE.. It's not a restrictive environment at all.. She and her admin staff just work HARD to keep it NICE, peaceful and FUN here.. and she's fair about it..
I'd like to see more women of color here, but having a smaller number of us here has NEVER stopped me from jumping in and sharing.. I've learned a lot from here as well.. I think that a lot of women sleep on HB, and have dismissed this forum as "the white hair forum", but that really doesn't accurately describe this place at all.. I see this forum as a nurturing environment for all ethnicities.. and I really commend Karen for recognizing and responding to community needs and desires.. (example the 360 and Hip Hop forums)
So as women of color, if we find and express a need that is not being met here, I am reasonably sure that Karen would look into it and make changes as needed..
I got nothing but love for BHM and many of the women there, but sometimes I just want to chat without all the cattiness and drama.. **sigh**
This is so true. Plus if there is drama click that "report" button, I've done it before. Ain't ashamed to say it either

I joined BHM the same time I joined here funny thing I though it was the same forum because it kind of had like the same layout but bhm had more info for me. I learned about different hair types different vendors closures I never thought of using one because the ones I saw were the plastic ones that turned me off but I've since seen the light. I MISS MY BHM (sigh)
