Most women tend to mix things around a bit as they get older: change the color, length, or something. For me it's a downgrade, but I guess she's in that "mixing things up" mode.

According to GettyImages, she hasn't really had her trademark hair since, what appears to be, 2004. It's generally been shorter (than the facebook pictures and the bond movie). But this is the shortest she's been so far.
