I don't even know if it's an infomercial (might be just a very long and annoying ad), but you know the one for the "Natural Bra"--the jelled silicone cups with the clasp in the middle? It's on every time I turn the channel...uugggghhhh....
Hey jun i do no how to put a curl in synth hair what u can do is take some really big curlers. set them take some boiling water and dip it the hair wont change it will only be curly make sure that u test the curlers for the right curl.. but the hot water will work just hold it in for about 1 min.. try it let me no if u tried..

Aha! Very good. You ordered the 28mm right, Sherrie? I ordered the 50mm. It may be a bit too loose, but I vascillate a lot between wavy and straight. I love the look of wavy, but I'm super-particular about it; I've never gotten a wavy texture I liked in human, so I always just end up getting the straight these days and then curling it.... Oh, the trials and tribulations of being a hair freak!
Yep I ordered the 28mm. I actually think I could use the 22mm. I put quite a bit of curl in my hair. Since it seems that it would be easier to straighten, then to curl synthetic(since Im a dunce with hot rollers) I may order the 22 mm next time around! Although I sent Sara a picture of my hair and she said 28mm will be good! So I will find out soon I hope!
Merguthrie: I wish you'd held onto that iron, too. Again, this whole "sleeve" idea may not work out, but I'm tempted to try it since hot rollers seem like a lot more work--with less control over the end result--to me.

if you wanna curl synth hair, before you braid, weave, ring it in (however you apply) - you need to wrap it around a curling rod and dip it into boiling water.
you can also straighten it the same way (without the rod of course)
I remember a Drlocks guide to it before, but Im not sure where that webpage is located

Yeah, I checked that out, and it's cool, especially if you want to tweak the texture before application.
I'm not all that concerned about the hair not being the texture I want prior to application, though. It's more a matter of when the hair becomes straighter, how do I revive the wave/curl? I know you can use hot rollers and steam rollers (I imagine once it's on your head, dipping it in the bowl of hot water wouldn't work all that well).
My concern about the rollers, though, is that you don't have as much control over the waves as you do with a curling iron. That said, I'm sure I'll figure it out one way or another. LOL. :)
That was my main concern too. Rolling the hair on a curler and dipping in hot water prior to application works but you cant do that once its on your head! Ive been doing some experimenting this evening with some prostyles hair that I have and so far Im not too happy with the results 1. I tried a curling iron on very low temp. Didnt curl well at all. 2. On high temp. it frazzled the ends. 3. On low temp I dampened the strand and it takes a beautiful curl, but the very ends seem a bit dry afterwards.
Just for kicks, I wonder what would happen if you tried to curl the hair while it's a bit damp, with a washcloth wrapped around the barrel. (I have no idea if this'll help with the dryness or not.)
Oh, wait...I've got my Dome. I'll try it myself ASAP!
if the irons don't work, why not put a braid in the hair and blow dry it a bit... you may also need a glosser spray for the hair to keep the shine when it becomes dull looking... what do you think?
Yeah, I think the braid may be a good idea--particularly when drying it or sleeping with it. I don't usually like the way the human hair I have looks after it's been in a braid, but it may be great with the synth. And I love silicone sprays; I think they're essential with all extensions, actually. I feel like I go through one bottle of the stuff a week (no kidding). I should start buying that in bulk! :)
So far the curling irons havent worked real well in my trials....dont know about Jenny! My curling iron is my best friend, I dont know if I can live without it ! LOL. Really I just feel like I have no control of the finished effect with rot rollers. And I am determined to find a velvet covered curling iron... or a way to use a curling iron on synthetic. I just havent figured it out yet. The braiding it will work nicely for a loose wave but I wear my hair with more curl most of the time.
