According to the previous threads here, that shouldn't happen, but I do think it's best to let the strands cure a little longer and apply the thin nail-glue layer which should harden the tips up a bit.
I just checked out the liquid gold website and on that it says that when dry the glue is still pliable, so maybe that's just how they are supposed to be. Also I noticed that when the glue dries it can still bond when heat activated. Now I'm worrying that when I apply the heat with the shrinkies that the liquid gold is going to bond to my client's hair as well as the shrinkie, any thought on this would be appreciated xxx
I don't think they should still be tacky, but perhaps they still need to dry out a little. I'd give them another day, then check again. I think it's OK if they're not rock-hard, but they shouldn't be tacky.
Perhaps it's a humidity issue, or you used more glue than AMM does. Either way, I'd give it more time. Once the tackiness is gone, you should apply the thin coat of nail glue, let dry again, and then you're ready to install them.
Hi there everybody, can you help me, I did my first set of pre-tipping with liquid gold last night. I did as it says in Amm's fantastic instructions. Then I cured them over night. This morning before I came to work and went and checked them. I expected them to be rock hard but when I touched the tips they were only slightly hard, they were still bendy and still a little tacky. Did I do something wrong or is that how they are supposed to be xxxx
Ive bought pre-tips and Ive made my own and even tho it takes a while I will definetely keep making my own. The pre-tips I bought shedded like crazy and the ones I made have hardly shed at all. And I used liquid gold. Im thinking of trying a glue gun next.
I can't seem to figure this one out! Pre-tipped hair with glue, and also pre-tipped with hard plastic (perma-plugs)... which is better and can you make your own perma-plugs? Also should you pre-tip with the glue over the hard plastic??? Thank you!
