Has anyone us a relaxer from Europe such as Phytologie Relaxer or PhytoSpecific Relaxer?

How was the results? Were you pleased?

I have read that "no lye" perms are made of calcium hydroxide and it really worst that than the "lye perms" which is sodium hydroxide.

I have notice with the "no lye", my hair is not as straight as it was 10 to 15 years ago. But my scalp rarely burns. There are trade offs like in anything else.

Protecting your help with a conditioner before and even better sleeping with the night prior to a relaxer helps me.

I agree that no-lye relaxers are the worst when it comes to hair maintenance. I had trouble with my hair while using a no-lye relaxer and the beautician suggested I use a lye relaxer. I thoroughly enjoy using Optimum brand relaxer.

No lye relaxers are the most damaging to the hair. They rapidly strip the moisture from the hair and leave it very vulerable to heat damage. A lye relaxer does not strip the hair. I used Just for Me for at least 10 years before going natural. My hair was very healthy during my relaxing years.

However, I got regular trims and conditioned conditioned conditioned.

All relaxers (perms) I use are no-lye. I dont' even want to try lye. Anyway, the perm I use the most and stand by is "Creme de Nature"....I've also used "Precise", "Just for Me" (technically for children). Lye has a stronger effect, but I dont' suggest using it. No-lye is just as good and safer.

All relaxers contain lye. No-lye relaxers contain a milder version of lye called calcium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.

No-lye relaxers leave the hair shaft unprotected and damaged. It also gives it a dull look.
