Purging keratin fusion

Okay, when doing fusion with a hot pot or glue gun, and using keratin glue, do you find it necessary to purge with a fusion wand?  I've been applying glue to the extension hair, attaching under natural hair and rolling.   The keratin cools ultra quick when it touches my fingers, so I feel the need to "purge" and re-roll.  I feel like this extra step saturates the glue throughout the hair more and allows you to make a cleaner/smoother roll.  For me, the purging step has been necessary because the keratin cools so quickly.  I'd reeally like to hear the experiences of others on this matter. 

shel221 Where do you get your silicone pads?  I would have reallyliked to have some when doing my shrinkies this weekend.

Silicoln pads and scalp protectors are a god send to me as when i wasn't using them it was sort of a sticky mess (lol)

 

p.s. for the record, this girl is having bonds really high up as it is totally nesesarry given her hair condition.

I tend not to leave any loose hair between bonds in someone with fine- medium hair and do a checkered effect on people with thick hair or lots of layers.  Yeah i always start at the bottom and work my way up.  The hair in the picture is standard HH therefore its very sparse at the ends and i found i needed to do this to make it look fuller however now with the bohyme and Raccon hair I dont need to do this as both they hairs fill out more.

Ive never had any problems with tangling in any of my clients with the method used nor dreads forming other than the time i used a certain brand of indian remi hair that done extactly that. I dont get that though as indian remi shouldnt tangle?? Must have been just rubbish hair.

I thought yours were better than mine chick LOL.  It depends how short the person's layers are on top, I went up to about 2inch from the part with this client xxxx

Queeeestion!  How many rows do you all do?  And approximately how many strands per row? 

Amanda, if you were to measure your sectioning, about how big is it?  i keep hearing from people who section 1/4" x 1/4", but when I do that, my strands seem big and I could never fit 20 strands per row. 

Shel, same question to you.  I think my strands look closer to yours. 

What do you think the differences are between smaller and larger strands, as in the pro's and cons?

To me, I feel like the smaller the strands, the easier the breakage, but the less noticeable, but the more you have to put in.  

The larger the strands, less breakage, becomes fuller easier, a bit easier to spot, but less to put in. 

Anyone else have an opinion on that?

FINALLY, about how long do your bonds measure?  Seems like an odd question, but from the top of the bond (where the glue starts) to where the glue stops, about how long is that?  Just curious to see how mine compare with everyone else's.
