WaWa problems...

So I did my first install last week after months of lurking and reading everything. Everyone here is so informed! Bonded wefts with LG. Tooks me a long time, bit awkward with all the mirrors and what-not, but overall I surprised myself with how well it turned out. I used 14" WaWa weft, mostly in 1B but with some hight light color thrown in for one or two rows.

Here's the problem: It's starting to mat up. The ends are getting crunchy. Everyone says it looks real, but when I touch it, it reminds me of bad wig hair - not at all flowing and silky like it was out of the package. It doesn't move properly, if you get my drift. I can't imagine keeping it in for a month or more, and I don't even like to wear it out of a pony tail much. It kind of tangles up underneath as it touches my shirt.

I have to wash my hair every other day, which I know is rather frequent, but I have an extremely oily scalp. I do use fabric softener and shine spray like everyone suggests. So what am I doing wrong? Everyone seems to be having these glowing experiences with WaWa, and amm's hair in the 35+ days post was so beautiful.

I use the Flasher spray that so many of you guys recommend. As for brushes, I considered the looper one, but since with the wefts it didn't seem like the brush would get caught on them the same way, I went with a Goody brush I found that I like (can't find a picture, sorry) they have a new line designed not to snag thick/curly hair. The bristles are very widely spaced and the base they are mounted to inside the brush handle is retractable, so if they get caught up in hair you can just coax them back into the brush instead of having to tug on your hair. It's rather clever. It seemed like  good brush for extensions, anyway, but I have zero experience so maybe I'm still way off here.  Even from day one before I had washed off any of the  coating from the hair or anything I had to brush the hair out at least at the ends/underneath (carefully) every 3-4 hours. I imagine this would be the case with PH too, but when I had long human hair and it tangled, the tangles still layed relatively flat, but with the synth any muss and it tends to creep up on itself and stick out, so I feel compelled to smooth it down constantly. Mochachip, I don't think you're being mean at all. I'm asking questions to get answers, after all, lol. I've heard very mixed things as to how often you should brush the hair, so I'm unsure about that. Are  you saying that I should be spraying the hair every time I brush? If that's what you mean, I hadn't realized. It seems like it would get really shiny that way.

Metalgirl, do you use a steamer like people use to steam clothes? I assume that's what people are talking about when they mention them, but I never have asked.
