It sounds like the complaints come from folks wearing the light colors. I've been wearing 20" #4 for a month now with no problems. The weft doesn't shed because I went over it with gel nail glue before putting it in. I wash it every other day using old skool Nexxus Botanoil shampoo (diluted) and a fistful of Humectress followed by some Biosilk after towel drying which keeps the hair amazingly silky and bouncy. I always air dry it and it's dry in an hour or so. So far so good. No split ends. No shedding.

As far as tangling, the hair Kalika is wearing is 24" long for heaven's sake...of course it's going to tangle. My 20" could be considered "tangling" in that it has to be brushed two or three times a day, but it's hair after all - all long hair needs brushing. I haven't had any of the matting or dry hair problems Sherrie has reported, but hers is practically white blonde - pretty far from the hair's natural state. It makes sense that the further up the blonde scale you go, the more compromised the condition of the hair, especially this dark Indian hair. Unless it's Great Lengths hair, but that's a whole other Oprah.

That's just my 2 cents. This was turning into an RK bash, and in the interest of balanced reporting, I have experienced none of these problems. I feel it is very high quality hair especially given the price. In the past I've paid $200 plus for 4 oz of His & Hers cuticle hair only to have it turn into a split end frizz festival in 4 weeks, and the hundreds of dollars I've spent on unuseable garbage from hairpiece makes me want to scream. So to me, RK hair is a goldmine.

My experience is, again, with the RK dark colors, specifically #2 and #4, in 20" double drawn straight. I also have single drawn remy in the same colors for a future install but haven't done anything with that hair yet.

Im sure thats a contributing factor. Besides the fact that I blowdry and curl too....Im sure those things add to the problem. Ive really cut back on how often I wash to try to make this hair hold out. Ive washed every other day at most. And Ive even worn this straight alot in a ponytail to cut back on my styling....and its still not helping much.

I just know with the MANY MANY bonded weft installs that Ive done in the past several years, the method has never caused a matting/tangling issue.

thats a good point 2. How often do you wash your clip ins amm? maybe washing the hair everyday causes dryness and eventually causes matting and tangling. just a guess tho.

Yes, but I tweaked them a bit. One has Color Charm Demi 10NG Lightest Golden Blonde combed through and I fingerpainted with Quick Blue bleach and 30 vol developer to make a few strands pop.

Yeah, inasmuch as it's working for me, it's not working for others. If I didn't read about the problems, I wouldn't have known any differently. Then again, I am not showering or sleeping with this hair in.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! your scaring me!  I was really hopin RK was going 2 b ok, I didnt know it was that bad. hmmm, Im still gonna give it a try and hope 2 get lucky w/ a good batch like amm and LHD.

Im thinking of trying a strand by strand method and see if anything is different, which I doubt but who knows?

Ok...some comparisons with my #22 RK. Mine does NOT hold curl well at all. The curl will fall out and be a large wave within a few hours. Unless I put in a really tight spiral to start with. Then I end up with nice curls like in my icon, maybe a little looser than my icon.

My hair does not look that smooth and silky at all.

This hair does not mat just at the neck area, it mats all the way down the length where it touches against my back.

Just out of the shower this hair is a tangled mess. The other morning even with a load of conditioner and products I was seriously worried if I would be able to untangle it, but I stayed at it and worked through it, but it was SCAREY! It took along time to get it untangled. (Now this morning after the biosilk in all night I didnt have this problem.)

O/T amm are those of #12 and #27?

I do like the fact that RK hair holds curls tho. rrrr I want to get to the bottom of the tangling issues w/ the bonded wefts

does that seem like a fair assessment?

amm, how low do you place the clips in the back?

That's interesting to note that the issues have all been with bonded wefts. I'm not sure if that really matters or why it would. Has this been installed strand by strand yet. Anyone? Anyone?

I wear two rows in the back. I wear low (just above the nape and the next one goes just a level higher) on the days I want a longer style. I wear crown height and one level lower on days I want to wear shorter.

Here's my clips. I wear them every day and they hold curl like crazy. These pics are after 3 days wear even brushing through light spray and reapplying. They're still smooth and no bunching or matting around the weft.

Ok,Wow I must have gotten lucky with the batch I got.I ordered the straight In color #5.I got color #6 which was way too light.I got it in 26".I cut off 2 inches. The hair felt considerably better after I washed it.I  wear it as clip ins.The hair doesnt tangle any more than my own hair did when it was long.I expected it to tangle a little bit being so long. But it hasnt been an issue. The hair has stayed nice through washing. And it holds styling very well. But now I'm afraid to order any more thinking maybe my batch was a fluke.

maybe they dont put in the clip ins very low, I have no idea. This is really strange how clip ins are good and bonded wefts get tangled. I dont know just makin a guess

I dont see how the install method would have anything to do with the matting/tangling

Whoa, sherrie. That just ain't right.

My RK clips ins are doing great. I'm wearing a #12 & #27 combo @ 18" and have another batch that I darkened up. I wear them all day for 12 hours with absolutely no problem. Minimal shedding as well.

The very light blonde RK's are consistently bad it seems. Yeah, the price is good but I don't consider that a bargain if it won't last one install. Buh-bye RK.

same here Marie, Im gonna try to push the hair for the duration of the bonded wefts. I have a feeling these babies are gonna hang in there too. Sunday will be 3 weeks and these LG bonds are as secure as day one!

I really soaked the Biosilk silk treatment on it last night, braided it and slept with it in all night. The hair really combed out much easier after my shower this morning. I didnt need much conditioning products to be able to get my wide tooth comb through it like usual.

Of course the hair still tangled and matted at the neck today. The ends were looking pretty frizzy too so I trimmed about a half inch tonight. I may try some antifrizz treatment (or one of the zillion products under my bathroom vanity) tomorrow before styling.

So in summary, it sounds like RK hair sucks, right?

I don't want to buy it for clients if it's going to be a huge problem!

mine tangles and i get a bit of bac of neck matting with it, but i've had that with every batch of 613 i've ever owned, even more expensive stuff :/

My tangles may be due to the 24'' length, i am going to cut it when i do a proper install, we'll see how it is when its razored out and cut properly :)
