Thanks everyone I felt kind of silly asking the question but I saw it a lot on the boards and I wanted to know so that I can do. Everyone give such good advice! My hair is getting healthier now I am definately starting to see a difference and it is b/c of everyone with their insightful advise!

I love pre-poos...I make my own mixture of a bunch of oils like vitamin e, shea butter, and almond oil and sit under the dryer for 20 min. then wash it out

for my pre-poo, i use castor oil on my dry hair and put on a thin plastic cap and leave it on overnite or apply prior to shampoo and sit under the dryer for a half hour then poo as you usually do .

It works really well.  It really leaves my hair nice and soft.

A pre poo is something you do before you shamppoo. Like some people rinse there hair with coconut milk and then shampoo. A Cowash is a condition wash. This basically means skip shampooing.
