Hey all....write this IP # down and if you see it anyway on the Net you will know it is Valencia.  She is definitely a troll.

205.188.116.7  with the following registration email:

r_belik@yahoo.com

This is the same IP in the same subnet as the original HairbyValencia.

Unfortunately, sadly, there is some level of truth in what this person says.. ISPs assign IP addresses dynamically, (i.e. you are assigned the next availble IP address when you log in..) or some ISPs only have ONE IP address they assign to all users. Their backend network then handles all requests (packets) going out to the web. (Similar to how a home router works) The ONLY thing you can tell about the IP address is who the ISP MIGHT be.. I say might because there are methods for spoofing IP addresses. IP spoofing is a method used by hackers for spamming message boards and guestbooks which employ IP logging. Spoofing makes the IP address in the posts appear legit, when in fact they are not. (It's a problem I fight DAILY on my own website and my husbands website guestbooks) However, unless you are technically savy, the average end user does not possess the technical know how to spoof an IP address.

Also keep in mind some ISPs who are DSL providers, lease their lines to other DSL providers. Earthlink for example leases lines from PacBell here where I live, and PacBEll leases lines from Covad. So an IP address in the same subnet MAY not be from the same internet provider..

It is impossible to come to any concrete conclusions from just the IP address only.. However, depending on the backend achitecture of this forum, other data logs may provide the ISP with enough data IN ADDITION TO the IP address which can help determine who ACTUALLY posted the note..

I just wanted to point out from a techincal standpoint, that an IP address in the same subnet by itself ONLY says that the poster MIGHT be using the same ISP as Valencia.. It doesn't tell you anything else. Hopefully you have enough additional data from the forum backend logs to provide the ISP with some clues as to the identity of the person(s) involved. Sorry for jumping in here, I  wanted to throw in my three cents from the perspective of an IT professional.. I hope this all works out..

people who attack and demean others have very low self esteem. In order to make themselves appear or feel better, the simply put down people and attack them. they are the type of people to be pittyed. They really should be ashamed of their behavior.

There is one thing to give constructive criticism, and another thing to  be so imature and  to say something so mean. I think, ignoring them is the only hope they will give up and go away. Obviously they have no work and no life otherwise why would they be on here acting out in such a vile and evil way.

The best defense in this matter to rid this board of the trolls is PRAYER!!! We bind every evil spirt and attack in HIS name!!!

I agree completely and also add that not only does installing fusion close to the scalp cause the extensions to stick out but also makes for a very painful first week for the client.
