ooh sorry nicey didnt mean to offend you, but when youve been in this business as long as i have and have had to put right so many extensions disasters, (including professional salon mess ups) you then realise just how many bad extensionists there are and theres a lot who have had no interest in hairdressing beforehand and just decide to do it cos its a good money making scheme so they do a few private courses and off they go. most of the highly reputable extensions courses are only available to salons because of this. some people have a natural skill and flair for it i dont dispute and it comes very easy to them after a couple of courses, and they`ll probably do a top class job! but like i say the ones in it for the money( IE the girl who is the subject of this posts topic) are usually the bad ones as its not making their client look and feel terrific after doing a job with pride that fuels them on but just the hard dirty cash!! ladies am i wrong?????
you're right leelou, there are flybynight people in every corner of everything that can be done to make a buck, im glad you clarified what you mean exactly though because at first read the posts seemed a bit like salon expert snobbery and i am thankful for your, and other's, expertise to help me fit my own hair in :)
I assure you there is no snobbery with Leanne, she has pink and purple hair for god's sake lol plus she doesn't work in a salon he he xx
that's cool Amanda (and thanks for your past posts which have been very helpful too), when things are just words on a screen they come across different ways than intended at times
aw thanks nursie, no i dont just mean freelancers can be bad cos i AM freelance, like i said ive had to sort lots of salon done extensions disasters out but at least they were covered by insurances before they can trade in case of disasters, unlike freelancers who could be doing it as a little sideline without insurance as they sometimes arent declaring to the taxman that they are self employed!!this leaves clients totally powerless if they have a disaster!! this is what has happened to the girl in the pics on the ebay ad mentioned in this posts topic
I really don't understand folk who don't get insurance, I mean it only costs me under £100 a year for insurance and that insures me for one million, who's going to if they were to, sue me for more than that lol x
ooh i feel a claim coming on!! amanda im gonna pull my extensions out and burn my head with the shrinkies tool, sue the pants off ya, and a ferrarri will be mine!!!!! why did i never think of it before? ONLY JOKING!!!!
yeah lets sue each other!! then we could buy a garage full of porsches!!but seriously, public liability insurance is good though and does ensure a certain amount of professionalism, and a responsible attitude towards the services we provide!

hiya leelou...you didnt offend me at all i was just saying that not all of us that are new to extensions are as bad as the lady in the advert..i totally agree with you about the courses being so easy to take and if the courses that people take are anything like the first one i did then god help us! thats why i took another one and i have been practicing none stop for about 10 months not along time i agree but i am confident with my work now and have just started to charge people for doing it as when i was practicing i only charged for the hair etc..
i hope that 7 years down the line i can be where you are saying how long i have been doing it and im sure i will...im am a hair extension junkie now..im totally addicted..lol
oh yeah i know leelou aint a snob i saw her in town..lol

As the story goes there is two sides to every story and I dont think that we all know the full story of this particular and might never get to know it.

yes i agree there is to sides to every story although i cant imagine how that girl could have got stray hairs from above and below the bond mixed in with the bond??
surley thats down to the extensionist..? i just cant see a way that it could have been caused by something she did. x

Oh Yes Im intrigued to hear the outcome! I love a good "get revenge on the cowboy" story! Im Lucy new to the forum I have been doing extensions for about 12 years now and am fed up with having to sort out other peoples mess! there are too many out there willing to do a bodge job at a cheap price but they are never around to fix the problem afterwards! us brits are too polite though and never like to complain!!

I know a girl also trained by connect2hair they all have one thing in common they are taught to apply extensions bond on bond ie. all together in a block rather than in rows there seems to be no structure to the application just randomly shoving them in! As for enormous bonds like that i think thats just pure laziness and sloppy work and obvious over loading of sections, she is lucky to have any hair left!! hope she at least gets her money back. grrrr
Its Laura here, hope youre well,(by the way the hair is brill thanx!)
Just noticed you'd commented on this hair thats been badly fitted,is this the connect2hair you'd told me about when I saw you? Dont mean to sound nasty but it seems that quite a few people have trouble with this company. Anyway I'll speak to you soon chick.
