QuoteReplyTopic: Elite Thermofiber received Posted: September 21 2006 at 9:35pm
I received the thermofiber today from s*******s and have put in several wefts. I bought three colors, 613 (platinum), 9 (dark ash brown) and the blonde mix(Not the strawberrry blonde one). I love the texture, and it is unbelievable how much like human hair it is. It is like Russian that a friend of mine has in. The blonde color mix that I got is too reddish/orange, so I am going to use the other colors and the mix chart on their website to bring it down some. This blend is way to red for me (I am more neutral/beigy blonge). The instuctions for curling were missing but I know they are good for it and will probably email them to me unless someone on here could help me out. I'm telling you, if this stuff holds up as good as it came in this is the ticket to the big one! We'll see, let you know. Any other feedback on Thermofiber?
It's (#9) a beautiful color but too dark for me. I wonder how this compares with the plastikhaar, it offers alot more of the blonde/sandy colors. Do you know how to curl it?
I don't know how to curl it but I just read on the site that curling instructions should have come with your order. I would email them if you didn't get them. I'm hoping to have mine tomorrow since I live in CA also. How long did it take to get yours? Mine was shipped on the 19th.

I just went ahead and paid the extra $4.00 and got mine overnight. I did email them already late this pm and asked for the instructions. I love love love the texture, I used some Redken hot set and a hot curling iron just to test if I could get the curl in and it barely took any so I know this isn't the way, but if I can get a little bounce in this stuff like they say-I'm in love! I wonder weight wise if it is lighter than real hair? I made a few tips too and put a few low lights in. It glues and shrinks just like real hair.
That is so kind of you, can you imagine not having to curl your hair for days? It looks so healthy. How are you going to put yours in? I was thinking about doing the technique that is on the LG site, you know where you glue it in and then cut off the weft? I've done this with some other small wefts that I made up myself and sealed them up with some clear nail polish and then I could remove them and use them over again. But as cheap as this stuff is....You are going to croak when you feel it.
I haven't seen the LG site but I will check it out.
I will use the Pro-tac tape on wefts on the back of my head & then use the linkies on the sides. Right now I have the Bohyme hair on & I LOVE it but it is so expensive! I don't curl it because I am afraid of frying the ends but the thermofiber hair you can curl once a week so I will be doing that.

DivineDiva a few posts down is showing a plastichaar install. Have you seen the beautiful blonde girl in the magazines for Pantene hair products? I'ts barely shoulder length and has huge barrell curls? That's the look I'm after. But right now I'm looking more like Wilma or something. Any help here guys on a cut or style or placement etc., Poor ole baldie can use some consulting over here.
Yes, I saw her Plastichaar install & it looks great!! I've never tried the Plastichaar because I can't figure out the colors but I am tempted to purchase their color ring. I haven't seen the Pantene girl.
The instuctions for curling were missing but I know they are good for it and will probably email them to me ...
Terribly sorry for the oversight. I just sent them to your email.
When using a curling iron, thermofiber curls when damp so be sure the hair has been moistened with clean water. Any other questions, please feel free to contact me directly by email.
Sorry I don't know about WAWA but I think someone addressed it just a few posts ago in another thread., I can't figure out if this stuff is so perfect -heck even better than real hair-why it is not more popular. I'm thinking it has to be because it is so cheap and there is not nearly as much money to be made off of it. I guess it's like cubic zirconia's-no one knows but the wearer but I sure as heck would'nt wear one instead of my carats!
Also Shrinkies emailed the instructions for curling first thing this morning, I just wanted to tell everyone how good their customer service is. They have always heads and shoulders above in that area for me. That means alot.

I am so glad the color is a good one for you. I am really liking mine so far. I washed it today, and blew it dry. It has alot of body left to it. I haven't quite gotten the hang of curling it yet. I think I may need a smaller iron. Mine is a large barrell. When are you putting yours in? How many links do you put on the side? or I should ask how many rows and where? I was trying to figure out some way to anchor the wefts in using shrinkies, or extend-tubes. What if I sew in the tubes every inch or so and then load them backwards and fuse them? I might try to experiment for some type of cleaner bond. This stuff makes my hair look fuzzy and thin and sick. I think I am going to look like cousin IT before I finish with this stuff.
Yes, I think you need a smaller iron and make sure the hair is real damp. Then after you take the curling iron off, don't move the curl until it is cool. After it cools off, it should be set.
I just installed the bohyme hair 1 1/2 weeks ago with the protac so whenever these fall out, I will install the thermofiber. I don't know how many links I will use yet. I am going by trial & error. I just don't feel comfortable about putting the protac on the sides of my head. I currently have the protac wefts down the back of my head & then use the clip ins for the sides. Next I will use the silicon lined linkies for the sides.
I was reading about the method with the LG & cutting the wefts off that you told me about & it sounds really tempting to try that too. Let me know if you do it & how it turns out. I wish the tutorial had pictures.
for the girls who have received their elite thermofiber...how does the tangling compare to that of PH?? PH is gorgeous and i WANT to love it, but i'm finding that it gets soooo tangled if i don't brush it constantly.

It's probably too soon to tell, and I cut mine to about a 12" length so I almost never have any problems with tangling anyway. HF looks like hers is alot longer than mine so she'll give the scoop I'm sure. I woke up this am and my hair looked so sexy just getting out of the bed. I just wish there was a ready made medium non- gold blonde to get my hands on.
HF: I did do a two inch piece with the weft cut off like the LG tutorial. I cut the weft off first though, then sealed with clear nail polish then applied it so I could reuse. it. It is flat flat flat and I put it on the side of my nogin so I could keep a close eye on it. Can you imagine this stuff if we had it in no weft? I hope it ends up being what we are building it up to be!!! HF You know you aren't gonna wait until those pro-tac stips fall out, go ahead and do it today on a Saturday so you aren't up all night on Monday when you can't stand it any longer. :)
