By the way: some asian hair sellers mix human hair with synthetic materials...
I know Amm has great indian (colored and natural) hair, but all the Premium strands which are provided in different shops, that is only cheap asian hair!!! You cannot wear them longer than 3 months, especially when its blonde hair...
They do not cost more than 20 cents per strand and look what you pay...

Silicone coatings on hair are always bad, cause they make you believe, that the cuticle is still intact. But when the silicone is washed off, the hair is bad... The cuticle has been removed cause of bleaching the hair too many times, or the cuticle is not intact, and the hair is frizzy...
In my years of doing hairextensions I learned its hard to get good blond hair. But I hate the cheap asian until death bleached hair...
When I have dark haired clients, I ONLY use indian natural hair without any treatings... When a light brown clients come, I bleach the hair by myself, cause I know then the hair is good quality and remy.
Blond shades are always hard to handle, cause it takes many days to bleach them.... And all my suppliers of hair told me, they use silicone to make the hair looking healthy. But I think, it is fraud....
Tell me, why you guys always use hair from asia with silicone coatings?? Asian hair is straight, too thick for caucasian hair... It has no natural wave... I really dont understand this kind of "hype" in USA.... All Hairshops sell asian hair. Why? When I want good looking hair, I use indian or european hair, as asian treated hair is never good...
I'm sorry, but I really need to know, why still asian hair is soooo popular in USA?
I'm going to make a guess here, I'm not sure. I would guess American Dream is real hair with a poly coating. All the companies have a different name for it.
cross linking polymer is one name I have seen to be the most popular.
Okay this is scaring me! What the h*ll is really going on? I can't afford to loose anymore money. I am shooting my commercial on Monday and don't know which way to turn? Should i go ahead and get hairlocs or socap certified and use their hair? Where you sand? gotta question for ya!
I've taken weft tops and wiped them down with both alcohol and acetone and it didn't do anything to help the situation.
I'm afraid this issue is effecting my business. I use nail glue over the tips and that seems to be ok for a while. When the customer comes back and it's time to take them out and reuse it, that's when the hair totally starts to fall apart. I have to take the time and rebond each strand before they go back into the hair. My having to do this adds another 1-2 hours to the service. It's a pain!
I will not order the MB Indian hair tips again either because they fall apart. His European tips still seem to work well, but many people can't pay the price for European and they don't want to wait 2 weeks for their custom hair to arrive.
Almost all the hair coming out of India has had "silicone oil" treatments. Sometimes the hair even looks dirty it's so full of silicone. The logic is it will keep the hair from tangeling. Sometimes even virgin hair is a bit tangly, especially natural curly. The oil doesn't remove the cuticle, it smooths them down to prevent tangeling. I'm not sure, but it might have to wear off to come out. What about soaking the root end in alcohol?
Yeah I just noticed the same thing with the short2long tips. My client's tips started disentegrating fast and causing shedding along with slippage. I was pissed off majoryly. So what do we do? I used the indian remy hair from Remyhairtoday and had no problems with the fusion shedding. So what do we do? If manufacturers are selling the hair with silicone on it and we have to pretip this hair then what? How does that affect our income???????

I've been in that same situation. Lost so many clients. Now I use Spanish hair from a reputable merchant. If clients can't afford it I warn them that the quality can deteriorate terribly. To be honest I think the silicone coating is only half the problem. If you but hair already on a weft anf it has a shiny, flaxen quality...and i know you won't believe me...but it's probably not hair at all but a petrochemical fibre. I'm at present trying to take American Dream to court for selling countrfeit hair. A good way to test is to burn it, American Dream hair will go up in flames (quite dangerous) real hair will singe.
I am pretty new to extensions, and all I have used is bohyme wefts and some wefts of Wawa and Elite thermofiber, but even on the bohyme, I do notice the silicone. I think the silicone coating is a great deceiver, especially when buying from a "new" source. There are several sellers on ebay who have excellent looking hair (from the silicone coating), but then when people get it, as they have noted on here, once that coating washes off, it's tangly, messy crap.
It's really too bad, as most people don't even need the hair to be *that* shiny! So, I haven't had problems myself, but I agree that it is a problem for a lot of people, and it'd be nice if silicone wasn't part of the hair-selling process!
I was just wondering if anyone else noticed if the silicone coatings that the manufacturers just seem to love to put on the hair has caused problems with your hair extension install.
I have had problems with the I-tips shedding after a few weeks, even though I coat them all this nail glue.
I also have really noticed that when I have taken wefted hair and I am pre-tipping it myself, you can feel the oiliness and the glue doesn't want to adhere to the hair.
And apparently Mark Barrington is having these same problems with their Indian hair too. (The get the Indian hair from Extensions Plus, which comes from Wagman). The MB tips are pretipped with a hard plastic coating on the tip and shouldn't break down with wear, heat or anything. For years I was able to depend on reusing this hair several times with no breakdown. Now his tips fray apart like crazy. His company sent out a memo stating that they are having problems with their tipping procedure, due to the excess silicone coating the manufacturer puts on.
The MB tips in the European hair still holds up fine, but it ranges $100-150 per ounce, and many clients can't afford that.
Just wondering if anyone has noticed an excess of the silicone stuff on hair. It appears like it is meant to deceive us in believing crap hair is really good hair.
