Also if i use the pellets/chips can I use the wand to heat it up instead of a melting pot...ive found some demos on drlocks and yourhairshop..but it didnt really say much about which to use...and if i do use the pellets/chips can I use pretip hair that i pretip with LG?? thanks!!!

You can use any of those things, the glue gun with glue sticks, the glue pot or the wand with chips or pellets. I think its just personal preference and which works best for you.
No, I wouldnt use hair that has been pretipped with LG for a fusion install. Keratin is the better choice.
ok so ....i am looking at AMM's site and i was gonna buy from her...so i buy the keratin pellets to pretip with...how many do i need to do 4oz of hair?? and then do i use fusion bonds or fusion pellets??? thanks soo much for all your help!

so another ? sorry...can i actually just tip the hair with the same bond that I would use to put in my hair...like pretip it with the fusion/keratin pellets/chip/bond and then just heat it up with my hair?? if that makes any sesne...and which is the best kind to buy from AMMs store

If you have a wand, a melting pot isn't necessary unless you'd prefer to dip your hair strands in.
If you're making bonds for fusion, you don't have to pretip with LG. You can save yourself that step since the fusion bonds/pellets will do the work for ya.
It's really a matter of choice on what you prefer for the glue.
The keratin nail bonds are nifty because they're scooped on the sides. Bulk hair (even already tipped) slips right in the groove with the section of natural hair and it stays in place during the application.
There's two kinds of pellets and they both work great on the wand. The removal solvent for both is acetone. One type of pellet is keratin and the translucent amber pellet is not.
The important thing with fusion is to make sure that it's good and hot when rolling to ensure it's a nice tight bond that marries the extension hair to the natural hair.
Please don't practice fusion on your own head, practice on a girlfriend, just kidding. Practice on a mannequin head or a wig pinned into a wig block. The glue gets extremely hot so wear finger protectors or let cool for about 3-4 seconds before rolling between your fingers. Don't install a bond any closer than a 1/4 inch from the root of the hair. Otherwise it would be too tight like tight braids and you could severely burn the scalp. You could eye it or use a scalp protector( thin plastic disk). You need to part your hair in sections as you go. Starting for the nape,first row hair, next row fusion bonds, next row hair,etc.,etc.,etc. up to the crown. Mind the edges, you don't want any of the bonds to show.
It helps to hide the fusions. If the wind blows or you lower your head and your hair falls forward or you run your fingers through your hair, they shouldn't show if the bonds are short and small enough. The rows of hair don't have to be thick, just enough to cover your row of fusions so that you can't see them when you look at it.
thanks so much!! i just got back from vegas....woohoo!! Ya..i had jsut been doing shrinkies for a while.like about a year or longer...and got busy..and my brother died this summer...so thats why i havent been around... Oh ya...and my mom does my hair :-)
So... Bulk hair is better to use if you are doing fusion???
HOw much would i need to order to do a full head??? I have thin hair..so...not sure! thanks!

You are going to want the bonds to be about the same size as the section of strands of hair that you bond them to. If you make the bonds a lot bigger than the strands you attach them to THEY WILL BE TOO HEAVY AND THEY WILL PULL YOUR HAIR OUT BY THE ROOTS!!!! Don't make them a lot smaller than the sections either. Don't freak out though when you remove them and see some of your own hair with the roots attach to your fusion bonds. We lose hair everyday and if they're in the bonds they STAY in the bondsPractice removing the bonds on your mannequin or wig pinned to the wig block. All keratin doesn't dissolve the same. The one my fusionist uses dissolves to a fine powder. The sticks I bought dissolve more like crumbly crayons, but they both dissolve in acetone. Do not use polywax, use keratin. Bulk hair:
4oz.-half a head
8oz.- full head
10-12oz- super full head (personal preference of course)

you definitely need the fusion wand to install hair that is preglued for fusion. I cant think of any other tool that gets hot enough or would work well.
No. You would have to hold it there too long and then you would have to keep it hot until you put it to your hair. It cools in seconds. It would be too much work and too time consuming. The reason you buy pre-tips is to save you time and the grief of having to make them yourself. I guess you could apply it with a 1" flat iron but you would have to try to keep it from melting your other fusion bonds you've added, again too much work and too difficult. Why not make the investment in a wand. I bought mine on eBAY for $20. Conair also sells little cheap ones but I don't know how hot they get. You can probably find them on eBay too.
xoxsn9whitexox - I tried using my flat iron way back when and although it heats the bonds I also found the glue ran causing a much longer bond than you want.
A fusion wand is the best investment you'll make & you can find good deals, like MSHONEY said, eBay maybe, or other shops. Trust us, it will make your install SOOOO much less work & look much better.
Darling Nikki - Some leave hair between rows, some don't. Leaving some does help cover the bonds better. In my case my hair is so fine and I have a small head (yes, I know, sounds funny...I won't be offended at the laughter but trying to find small hats is a b*tch) - anywhooo..... if I leave hair between every row I won't have room to install enough hair.

... I left no rows of hair between the fusion rows, only the edges... .
